Good signing....now for a second CB and a big target man and we should have a very competitive squad.

Great signing. Hopefully we'll play him as a centre back but it's also good to know we have cover at RB
  • Heard a lot of good things about him. This could prove to be a very shrewd signing!  Time will tell!

    We've also signed Matt Taylor.

Don't forget Nikel Andersen is on trial and set to play at Welling tomorrow.

I've had a sex wee as well J Block!

Sounds like this guy could be good, Wednesday fans seem to think he has more to offer. I'm more pleased with this signing than Taylor tbh.

Owls seem to think he was sh*t.
Could just be covering themselves though. Doing a CL.

Should be a good signing, had two good seasons for Leicester, still only 23 and Powell will know him well.

Have found the Leicester FM researchers comments on him after he signed for Sheff Wed in January. Sounds like he might be our new right back. When we were first linked I got the impression he only covered there occasionally but looks like it might be his best position.

"His natural position and original position is a CB, but he always looked better playing RB for us and has probably played RB more often for us. He's actually surprisingly good going forward and has a decent cross on him too when playing full-back, considering he was bred as a centre-back. I've always felt his biggest strength was his ability to read the game and his positional sense as well as his aerial strength. Seems to make countless interceptions. I'm surprised we let him go really, he was one of our best players in the side that finished 5th in the Championship last season, but he's been in and out of the team since Sven has been here so I guess he wanted first team football. He's proven himself at Championship level though as well as League One level with us."

Come Wednesday lets ave it. Even your players want to join us. You only got Semedo because he knew he wouldn't get into our midfield.
  • Forgive some of our enthusiasm re Semedo, but when you've had Darren "crab" Potter ...

I'd wait until you've seen Jose play before getting too excited if I were you*.

*excluding your games against us when he will play like a cross between Messi and Busquets

Yeah, hot centre back action! (also involving German imports, fnarr fnarr)

Not quite managed a sex wee yet, but I'm working on it.

(Don't worry, I won't keep you posted on that)

Is this what pudding tastes like?

Bit more from the Leicester FM researcher-

I'd say he had the best positional sense and was the most intelligent defender we'd had in years, that was his major strength for us. Regularly reading play and intercepting balls, breaking up attacks, rather than being a "hard man" defender who got stuck into tackles, his game was all about reading the opposition's attacks and breaking them up. He was also imperious in the air. Also, the guy is a surprisingly great crosser of the ball for a player of his ilk.

We had one of the best defences in the Championship in 2009/10 and our success that season was built around our defence and all that was largely down to the Hobbs and Morrison. I watched him for 2 1/2 years at both League One and Championship level and the guy was an excellent defender at both this level and the one above it.
