Agree with a few comments about Jack Ryan. Really enjoyed it. Went through Treadstone on a few work journeys. Again, really good for Bourne fans.
Watched the first 4 episodes of Picard. It’s a series long story, rather than one off episodes. Might seem slow because of that, but it’s building nicely. Some really nice touches. As it’s only releasing episodes weekly, I’ve just started The Expanse as well.
Did you...? Thought it was bang average. No real twist to it at all.
The ‘twist’ was quietly hinted at in a 2 person conversation near the end. There was no set piece denouement or simplistic plot exposition. A moment’s inattention and it would have been missed.
I’m aware that Seinfeld and CYE were critically and commercially successful hence declaring I don’t “get” either one.
Just watched episode one of Full Steam Ahead on BBC2.
The program depicts the importance and significance of the introduction of the railway during Victorian times and the resultant cataclysmic changes brought about. Fantastic shots of the Ffestiniog small gauge (2 foot) railway and its transportation of slate. Onward distribution would then go to uk standard gauge which is (as all lifers already know) four feet eight and a half inches. Highlight for me was the gravity only 14 mile thrill ride of the slate train from quarry to port, which in its peak would be 120 carriages weighing 500 tons travelling at 15 mph. Phew.
This is a no miss show for all genuine lifers. Absolutely gagging for episode two.
Just had to change my underpants, what a story! What a wonderful run through, thanks Raith.
Does anyone know if Norsemen is coming back to Netflix soon? Pretty sure season 3 is out now but nothing on Netflix about it. Hope they haven't dropped it
Finished Dynasty yesterday, on Netflix, I have been watching it probably the last 1-2 months, I forget. Its only 2 seasons but 24 episodes in each. Really good, easy to watch, lots of drama. hard to describe other than its about a powerful and rich family, but lots of twists and turns/break ups deaths. I would definitely recommend it!
Next on the list The Witcher or Stranger, or Fleabag. Really busy this week (non stop pool) but any recommendations welcome

Norsemen is a good watch. Looking forward to season 3 as well.
Sunderland till I die 2 is out this Friday on Netflix
I'm planning to watch one of these a week. I've had a quick look at our fixture list and it's written in the stars that I watch the final episode in the same week the we are once again consigned back to the hell of league one.

Oh the irony!
My maths me be bad but I dont think its possible to be relegated in 6 weeks, that would be the first week of April with 5 or 6 games left haha

And oh the potential symmetry of Sunderland getting promoted the year after the more famous Play Off Final....passing us as we get relegated.
I just asked Netflix Help about Sunderland and they have no release date they were prepared to offer me. So I cancelled, following my free trial. There was nothing else on there I was desperate to watch. My problem is I just don't much enjoy US stuff.
I did watch two Euro series which were pretty good. "1983" is Polish and is what they called "alt.history drama" set in 2013 but assuming that the fall of the Wall never happened, and that a major act of rebellion-terrorism took place in 1983. It has some style.
"Dogs of Berlin" is in some ways routine cop drama, but it does present what goes on in the estates of Berlin in much the same grim and gritty way that Spiral does for Paris. It also starts with the murder of Germany's no1 football player, who in this case is presented as a Turkish-German. The CGI work to present football scenes in the early episodes are pretty dire, but fortunately are not needed as the story unfolds. Quite compelling.
The Split has been great viewing. I don't know if anyone saw the new 'detective' series on ITV on Sunday night called McDonald & Dobbs? If not, don't bother. Worst two hours of TV in a long, long while.

Is holding our interest.
Flesh and Blood on ITV last night and for the next 3 nights had a promising first episode
I remembered watching the first series years ago, but hadn't seen series 2 or 3.
Brilliant, I thought
Latest series just out. Second episode is beautifully written and very funny. Superb acting.

Wow that was emotional, halfway through I thought maybe with the time skipping she was in a mental institution.
But the ending was so more emotional then I could ever have thought

Hannah gets right on my nerves though.
