  • Add to that three medals from the Road Racing and there's still the BMX to come - Shanaze Reade is the favourite in the women's race.

Part of Cav will wonder how long he'll be top dog on the road. He's desperate for that gold

He'll never be a GC rider and if loses his sprinting edge then he'll be scrapping for the odd win here and there. This looks a good move - he can carry on road racing and winning mass sprints for the next two/three years and then focus on winning on the track from then on.

The Glasgow Commonwealth games in 2 years should be good, the English cyclists going AGAINST Sir Chris Hoy (his farewell) and the Aussies.

Kenny beating him in Glasgow would be interesting

The velodrome currently under construction is being named after him.

It's not quite 'the pringle' in the Olympic Park, but it is 3/4 complete already - well ahead of schedule for another excellent sporting extravaganza!

That looks even smaller than the London velodrome, a hot ticket no doubt!

If the stands are too big and the roof is too high, you lose the humidity which helps them go faster somehow
