Sorry to be a pain mate but 'nowt' is Northern for nothing so unless you were meaning 'so it's nothing news then?' as in trivial info then I'm afraid you're incorrect. Again. ;o)

    Northern lessons for those interested.
  • Nowt chance of NRC signing I reckon ay up?

Used to live in Co Durham for a few years so northern monkey dialect comes naturally. ;-)
  • Co Durham is up north to me mate. Some of them sound foreign to my ears.

  • I can talk Gordie like wor lad.
  • In talks with Palace if the Mail is right.
  • Never wanted him anyway ;)
  • The same paper that's had him signing for us and Fulham in recent weeks.
  • don't need him anyway do we?
  • No, not really
  • He's talking to Palace!

Let's hope that he really has deterioated as a footballer or that his attitude is as bad as runoured though I would have liked to have had him with us based on his footballing abvility.
  • If Palace can afford his wages then surely we could as well ? Can only see this as a short term move.
  • Great, so we get him fit so he can go to Palace.

    Exactly this!!

I can't understand why we're helping a player out who has no intention of playing for us! That is the idea of having players on loan after all!

  • Gives the youth players the opportunity to train with and get to know the workings of a Premier League footballer. Also, builds good contacts. Treat pros like him right for these few weeks and you never know, he might be able to recommend us over another club when it comes to potential transfers in the future.
  • Surely his name gives it away?

    Bloody Nigel...

I still don't think we should be helping out every Tom, Dick and Harry just because they're Prem quality, like we're star struck amateurs or something?
  • very simply its networking, what goes around comes around. How to win friends and influence people etc. So you've made a friend/contact, and some of it might even rub off on the youth players. Seems like a no brainer to me. Fact is this guy has a lot of experience and is a star of sorts, so why not.

This. CP was chair of the PFA and is clearly concerned to demonstrate values beyond the immediately self-interested. Good for him.

We weren't. We were hoping it would lead to a deal being struck.

    Looks like that hasn't happened.

Nigel Reo-Coker being linked with #cpfc today. Been told that is not true. Good player but they have plenty of CM options already.
  • In that case, perhaps it's his agent trying to stir up trouble and make us stretch our offer closer to what they're asking for? That is if we're still in the race for his signature at all.

Or he goes there on a short-term contract to get 'match fit'. Comes back to us in Jan. Knows all their secrets and helps plot our 0-6 away win at Sellout?
  • The dailymail had him signing for us a few days ago. I wouldn't read a whole lot into it yet.
