Reo-Coker to sign?

  • Not sure about that. Be very interesting to know what Chris Powell's thinking is. It's hard to believe he wouldn't be a good signing. A midfield three of Stephens, Razak and Reo-Coker, flanked by Kerkar and Green and in behind Fuller looks an attractive proposition to me.

Perhaps Powell is only interested in a one year deal, perhaps Reo-Coker is being greedy, perhaps Powell doesn't fancy him? Who knows, but either way Reo-Coker now has a problem. He's not being paid, he's not playing and he can't now play for a Premier League side until January, even if anybody wants him.

If he wants football and if, as he says, he wants to live in the London area for personal reasons, he doesn't have very many options. Chris Powell's bargaining position is getting stronger every day, so if he is interested......

  • I would say that bringing in Rasak has effectively ended any interest we had in okey cokey hence why he's now touted himself about in the newspaper.
  • Keep the faith guys, when he does sign he can room with Baldock at away games
  • Pay when you play?
  • Phew, that was a close one.
  • Why would he want to go to Ipswich? I know Charlton probably can't afford his wage demands but there must be better Championship level side who could afford him.
  • Ipswich have got to be desperate and are probably paying big wages
  • Shrewed move there Charlton, hope he paid for his grub in the players canteen at Sparrows!

Yeah, he took the right piss and has now signed for The Tractorboys! Allegedly

    ; )

  • Phew!!!! Thats was close, I never wanted him anyway. ; )
  • Is Ipswich one of the teams abroad that he has options with
  • Shitswitch must be paying some hefty wages for him.
  • I'm not so jubilant. Ipswich need him and I suspect he will do well for them.
  • Wasted thread.
  • Would've liked to have signed him
  • Presumably NRC does NOT have a geography degree...

  • Good news... For me he is own hate figure.... The press here in Ozhave gone wild...
  • 3.5million views WHAT A WASTE
  • I'm noit so sure he wont lose interest quickly, its quite a come down from "I won't sign a contract because I want to play in the Prem" to signing for Ipswich. Don't think championship will be an eay ride for him

Mercenary mate, like the majority of pro footballers; and people were saying it was a good move having him train with us. Righto....
  • The one person's view that really matters here is that of SCP. Did he ever want to sign Reo-Coker? The signing of Razak whilst Reo-Coker was training with the academy suggests to me that SCP wasn't interested in signing him anyway. Just a thought!

But why let him train with us ? If he didn't want him in the first place .
    I really don't understand this reo-cooker situation.

It's probably all about networking and building up a bank of goodwill. You never know when NRC might be able to put in a good word for us that could be the difference between someone deciding to come to us or to go somewhere else.
  • I'm guessing a player with premier league experience training with us can only benefit the rest of the team whether he signs for us or not. Would it be so ridiculous if we let Beckham train with us for a month while the US season is finished like spurs did last year?

    Reo-cooker's not quite Beckham !
    Just don't understand it.
  • He's not Beckham but he's still played at a higher level than most of our first team squad, let alone the development squad.
