I'm in Great Yarmouth a t m .. Jim is appearing at the Brittania Pier Theatre on August 12 & 22 (followed by Showaddywaddy ... yeah) and Sep 1 .. bargain at £19-21 .. Sarah Millican ? .. they want £26 a seat .. no further comment ((:>)
Indeed. £26 for someone who's funny, or £21 for someone who's a racist embarassment, even if he is a Charlton supporter.

Horses for courses. I'm not sure I've even smirked at a JD joke, whereas SM cracks me up. If you can't accept that different people have different tastes, I wonder who it is who's sense of humour has gone AWOL.

Only my opinion butI can't get over Millicans voice - really gets on my nerves. I think Jim has talent. Much more than he is given credit for. But he needs to have the guts to change his act a bit. I did see him last year on his tour and I thought he needed more gags. I wasn't interested about what Thatcher did for his mum in all honesty. I went there for some jokes and there weren't enough of them. If he could step over his hatred of modernity and make his act politically neutral, there might be a new path for him.
I'm not saying change his views, but change his act. You feel a bitterness in every word he utters!
Years ago, en-route to an away game, our coach party was subjected to a (cassette) recording of one of Davidson's gigs. Much of it was racist. Finding it disturbing, I went to the front of the coach and requested that it was turned off, preferably forthwith. Thankfully, it was. That Davidson can attract an audience is evidence that some find him and his 'humour' meritorious. He can wallow in his happy memories of Thatcherism, in theatres and clubs from Torquay to Barrow-in Furness and beyond, for all I care. But as to the tape recording I heard; Racists took succour from such comments and some of us have witnessed, at first hand, their actions. Change the tune. People's skin colour and disability is not funny. For information regarding the latter, Google the words 'Jim Davidson' and 'Paralympics'.
you shouldnt find jd funny but you just do - same with clarkson and top gear - same with alf garnett, bernard manning and all the rest - because they are funny - milican is shit - like virtually all other female comedians - french and saunders the worst - oh and a special mention for michael mcintyre - absolute dog shit.
I think you can joke about these subjects if you position yourself in the right place. People know Carr isn't a racist etc... so he can get away with saying unsavoury things. I'm not saying Jim is, but people don't know that for sure. It is funny, but it isn't enough to say you are not - it is a judgement people make around your persona. Davidson has an audience and he gives them what they want, but that limits him bcause whilst he can make money from them, they are shrinking and there are few younger people amongst his fans. He won big brother and showed he was a naturally funny man, but his material is too narrow. It isn't all his fault - humour dates - it always has. Bernard Manning was offensive - he played to his audience, who at that time were ignorant people. Was he funny? I don't think he had the talent Davidson has. Jim's problem IMO is that he has a gift to be liked and desire not to care and nuture this!

Jim Davidson hasn't said anything funny since Big Break.
She is more than "a bit of a minger"
Just some are bigger than others.

Jim Davidson is a twat
That's that conversation dealt with!
Go to a library instead.
Personally I think a joke's a joke, as long as it's not vicious or cruel.
I bet most people over 40 did as well.
I don't anymore.
JD is funny and I like him - especially as he's an Addick.
