I'm in Great Yarmouth a t m .. Jim is appearing at the Brittania Pier Theatre on August 12 & 22 (followed by Showaddywaddy ... yeah) and Sep 1 .. bargain at £19-21 .. Sarah Millican ? .. they want £26 a seat .. no further comment ((:>)
Indeed. £26 for someone who's funny, or £21 for someone who's a racist embarassment, even if he is a Charlton supporter.
indeed .. I see you've had a humourectomy .. thinking Ms Millican is 'funny' proves it ((:>)
Horses for courses. I'm not sure I've even smirked at a JD joke, whereas SM cracks me up. If you can't accept that different people have different tastes, I wonder who it is who's sense of humour has gone AWOL.
Can't believe I wrote "who's" instead of "whose".
Even more so, can't believe no-one's picked me up on it.

lol .. I did notice but thought 'poor chap, he's enough on his plate as a Millican fan' .. so I made no comment ((:>)
....if she can sell out a venue like that, I genuinely think I've still got a chance. D'ya reckon Russell Slade will drive around New Eltham with me in my Kangoo, singing along to songs?
A Sarah Millican v Miranda standoff, now there's a threat to insomnia medicators all over the globe!
No a massive Millican fan, but she is at least occassionally amusing, whilst I don't think I can publish what I think about Miranda, there are a lot of forms of self-harm I'd take over having to suffer Miranda!
Years ago, en-route to an away game, our coach party was subjected to a (cassette) recording of one of Davidson's gigs. Much of it was racist. Finding it disturbing, I went to the front of the coach and requested that it was turned off, preferably forthwith. Thankfully, it was. That Davidson can attract an audience is evidence that some find him and his 'humour' meritorious. He can wallow in his happy memories of Thatcherism, in theatres and clubs from Torquay to Barrow-in Furness and beyond, for all I care. But as to the tape recording I heard; Racists took succour from such comments and some of us have witnessed, at first hand, their actions. Change the tune. People's skin colour and disability is not funny. For information regarding the latter, Google the words 'Jim Davidson' and 'Paralympics'.
She has exposure - and i'm sure some people like her humour!
Millican is certainly clever and appeals to a lot of people .. to me, she's taken Caroline Ahern's 'Mrs Merton' character/persona and developed it to suit her schtick .. for the record (who cares anyway ?) I don't find many modern 'comedians' funny .. Jimmy Carr ? ... he's in Gt Yarmouth soon and it'll cost even more to be bored stiff by him than it will to endure Millican

Pretty sure we had a thread on here once about comedians you find funny/unfunny and pretty much every comedian cropped up for either side of the vote. As for Carr, i've always found him pretty funny on the game shows and stuff but saw a stand up of his recently on netflix and thought he was complete shit.
To Addickted: Re. your comment about absolving the telling of racist jokes because they occurred years ago. Yes, views alter with the passage of time. However, 2013 wasn't a long time ago. But 2013 was apparently a good time to make jokes about paralympians, swimmer Ellie Simmonds and cyclist Sarah Storey.
Question to cafc4life: I couldn't put up with the one-liners about the Pakis and the Niggers, so I got the tape recording stopped. What would you have done? Sat in silence? Laughed?

Turning on the TV to find it showing Miranda actually is self-harming.

You cannot be messing around with that shit SteveG...
Maybe this is more appropriate in the Cousins leaving thread.
Sold out btw...
