Their problem is not our problem.

We should speak out like Sweden.
  • Their problem is not our problem.

We should speak out like Sweden.
    Haven’t you moved to Brazil?
  • The population of the world has increased from 6.144 billion in 2000 to 8.035 billion today, a 30% increase. Over the same time period the UK population has increased by 15% (58.9 million to 67.7 million), so half the world average.

So rather than the popular narrative of us being inundated, it's actually the opposite, we are bucking the global trend, and growing slower than our neighbours. To suggest we can achieve even lower population growth goes against the planet wide reality of massive population growth.
Our birthrate in the UK is low compared to the developing world, quelle surprise.

Our increase in population is due to immigration, not a high birth rate, so apples and oranges. Context is key.

What was your point?  Because developing countries have unsustainable birth rates therefore increasing poverty and starvation and environmental degradation and extinction of vulnerable species we should take their surplus, rather than them encouraging them to stop such abjectly dumb behaviour?

Five numbers that will define the next 100 years - BBC Future

Yeah, the planet's going to shit, but knock yourselves out, we can't possibly criticise your bad behaviours because you're not white; who likes forests, non-human species etc. anyway, right?

The epitome of white guilt/white saviour syndrome but proves a useful point to the environmental protestors that unless we address global overpopulation, we are fucked anyways, oil or no oil.  They shouldn't be bothered, right?

I like this argument, we can apply to lots of things, e.g; there's more homeless people in country x, so we need not  be worried about the increase in homelessness in country y'.  I shall file this for later use, thanks!
I assume you are familiar with the idea that as the UK has an ageing population it needs a healthy level of "young" immigrants to support the economy to e.g. afford pensions and healthcare for the elderly (among other things).

Is it safe to say that you don't oppose ALL immigration? Some is OK? I wonder where you draw the line.

    ------------

Also, I note you haven't answered my previous question about what you believe the opinion that JD espouses is,  which the majority of the UK population holds.

Here you go, from the far-right rag that is the Independent:

    https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/uk-migration-too-high-government-defends-stop-the-boats-record-2385673

'Two thirds of people think levels of migration to the UK are too high, a new poll for i has revealed'.

You're right, most of the people I know aren't credulous and aren't too keen on their patch turning into a mini-Karachi or Somalia.  Surprising, I know.

what brought those two locations to mind?   not even hiding in plain sight is it?

a large proportion of the recent small boat arrivals of course have been from Albania  - those individuals not so easily identifiable to the pirthfork wielders and lynch mobs as most Karachi or Somalia emigrés

The current regime ludicrously dismisses Albania as a "safe" country and one from which asylum can't be needed.  It is at least as safe as Rwanda I suppose.

All the while the regime is removing the "skills" requirements for immigrants if they're coming for health service and agricultural jobs, sectors in which vacancies are at all time high levels as a direct result of brexit.  Hospitality sector not granted the same easement for reasons nobody understands.
Racism and fomented fear of fictitious immigration brought about the popular/ist brexit vote and now immigration from outside Europe is being actively encouraged by the regime to fill the jobs vacated by the departed eastern and southern Europeans.
    Karma for racists - spectacular!

    'fictitious immigration'

Our little island has had a population increase of nigh on 10 million in little over 20 years (not counting the likely millions who have not been counted by the census), or maybe I just imagined it.

    United Kingdom Population - 2023 Data - 2024 Forecast - 1950-2022 Historical - Chart

There's little point engaging with you if live on another planet, but then it sounds like you are an open doors ideologue (e.g Albania not a safe country, wtf?), so you quite probably do.  What colour is the sky wherever you are?

Also, sorry for not wanting my society to resemble the wonderfully stable, law-abiding, peaceful democracies that are Somalia and Pakistan and their lovely rich cultures.   I'm sure you're already planning your emigration to these wonderful, tolerant places as we speak, so I won't distract you from packing your suitcase.

    Good luck.
How many supportive of immigration will take in an immigrant to keep them off the streets? Zero.
Jesus... I'd imagine the private renting sector does very well indeed out of it bearing in mind most immigrants work rather than come here hoping to sleep on the pavement

Argh, wasn’t going to comment on this thread, but here we go:

FYI, I think that far too often, people are quick to pull the race card.
And I’m saying this being brown skinned myself (half Danish, half Pakistani).

However, regarding Jim Davidson, I don’t know if he’s racist or not, but here’s my observation, as I’ve been the same room as him once.
It was up at Watford in 2007 (2-2 draw). I had a pre-match pint in a boozer (don’t remember which one).
I stood there by myself, having a pint and minded my own business.

From a distance I could see Jim Davidson staring at me in disgust.
I hadn’t done anything, hadn’t said anything, hadn’t tried to communicate with him.
But he sent me a look, which felt a bit like ‘f*ckin Paki!’.
I might have been overly sensitive, but it was weird.

I had a look around the pub and to me it looked like it was only me he had an issue with being there. I was also the only non-white in there from what I could see.

A bit of a bizarre experience and trust me, I’m the last one to pull the race card, but when you add some of the stuff up that he says, then it does make you wonder.

Racism is a strange trait and may be once in a while you should pull the race card on these strange people who don't know you but think they know all about you. I once worked with an Indian tool maker in a car plant. There was a guy there who was handing out badges, (no prizes for guessing parties), in the tool room. My friend went up to this person and asked for a badge, he didn't get one but he made the bloke squirm in front of his mates. I doubt my friend modified anyone's views there but we enjoyed awkwardness of this BNP supporter was experiencing. Many years later and long gone from that company I still enjoy the moment. I'm not sure what you could have done to Jimbo to embarrass him that day but he's on GB News nowadays embarrassing himself with his kind.
