I was in a bar down St Swithins lane last week, Cannon St. I ordered a pint of some lager, it was £6.50 while waiting for mates... and I actually thought to myself, well that's not too bad, as I paid £7.30 for a pint in the Cock and Woolpack the previous week. Was feeling quite smug.
Should have stopped there really, wasn't feeling so smug when we settled the final bill.
Going out in town is becoming just for the privileged.

I visited The Antelope in Surbiton last night. They normally give 10% discount to CAMRA members but don't on Mondays. They have "Cask Monday", all cask beers at £3.50 a pint. I had no idea and was very happy as it was my round! Great proper pub as well.
