Millwall fans have warned Millwall fans that there will be trouble if they see any Millwall fans at tonight’s game against Watford.
Trouble flared in Millwall’s FA Cup semi-final defeat by Wigan on Saturday after Millwall fans infiltrated the Millwall end, leading to battles between the one set of supporters.
Police fear that the animosity Millwall fans have for Millwall fans could spark a repeat of Saturday’s violence.
“We would urge Millwall fans to avoid any areas that Millwall fans may congregate,” said a police spokesperson.
“We will do all we can to keep Millwall fans and Millwall fans apart, but we can’t rule out the added complication of Millwall fans turning up.” Millwall warning
Millwall hooligan Mark McKenzie was amongst a number of troublemakers who have been issuing themselves with warnings ahead of this evening’s Championship fixture against Watford.
In a text message to himself, he said: “If I go to the game tonight then I’m telling me now it’s going to kick off.”
Mr McKenzie then ran down several alleyways before leaving a message on his voicemail in which he sang: “I’m going to kick my own fucking head in.”
Season ticket holder John Reeves was also keen to issue himself with threats of violence and to warn that he would almost certainly be travelling home in an ambulance.
Staring at his reflection in a shop window and making throat-cutting gestures, he chanted: “I don’t like me, I don’t care.”

The one comment that I cannot fully agree with is the assertion that Millwall Football Club have made enormous efforts over the last 20 years to eradicate their hooligan element and aggressive culture. I will say that I think the club have done something but there has never been the will to fully address the problem.
From what I can see the club itself have done a lot - the problem is that there is a small but vocal bunch of fans who glorify in the image and enjoy the reputation and no doubt these people are attracted to the club for that reason.
This isn't helped by other areas of the fan base who continually excuse them - have a look at the contributions on this thread from Millwall fans (and on other similar threads). The general tenor is that hooliganism is always someone elses fault - whether it be non-Millwall fans or it was started by other club's firms and poor old Millwall are getting wrongly blamed or whatever.
If these were Charlton fans does anyone think there would be the same closing of ranks and going into denial? Some would, but I think there's be a greater chorus of disapproval.
So no matter what the club itself does until the fans take ownership of the situation nothing will change.
And let's not forget the numpty (Matt Little??) who writes the column in the Newsshopper - he always seems to glorify the reputation.
it will be interesting to see his spin on the weekend. Charlton scrape a lucky 6-0 win and the trouble at Wembley started by Charlton fans in disguise.
I personally don't know one Millwall supporter that doesn't love their image that they portray.
I think those amongst us who grew up in the same areas would agree. The fact is, that was THE MAIN reason why these socially stunted individuals started supporting Millwall in the first place. Any Spanner I ever knew had a misguided "pride" in the infamy of the club image.
Just as the old adage of "big car small cock" holds true, I rarely saw a Millwall fan of my acquaintance who was nothing more than a little man wanting to project some form of power through his association with that shower of shite.
The club doesn't want to change either....they officially adopted the slogan `Noone Likes Us, We Don't Care' sticking it on everything from first team shirts to babies bibs. All this bollox about the club `working sooooooo hard to clean up its image' is well, bollox. Long may it continue is what I say.

What? Is that so? Blimey! Anyone want to buy a Ford Mondeo?

I wouldn't pay any attention to clubs adopting slogans. Look at Palarse for example; "south London & proud" they have on their shirts. Which is funny, as I've never seen a single palace fan in south london, ever.

I'm afraid our fan bases doesnt extend to Kent.
Back on subject, of course Millwall feed off their 'hard man' image. It's actively encouraged by the owners. It's part of the very fibre of the club and the only thing going for them - if you call call it that. Give it a couple of decades and that Millwall will be extinct.

I think you'll find that most clubs have what is commonly known as a fanbase. What makes you think that palarse have "fan BASES "?

Ha!
Is there? First I've heard of it. Thought there was one to Surrey or Sussex. Didn't know about Kent.

More like fan strong holds. We're spread across 5 london boroughs. Our support spreads from south London to Surrey and Sussex. I'm sure there a few in garden of England. Not as many as you lot or millwall.

your right ,do think theo papitas had a go but realised he was banging his head against a brick wall.dont think theres any hope of them becoming what most would call a normal club.even if someone came in and managed to rid them of the hooligans probably wouldnt leave many there.dont think their future looks bright, but would many in football care if they ever went under.
They are damn lucky that they have John Berylson as Chairman and funder. God only knows why he is there but he is and as long as he is then they are financially secure. If and when he departs its very difficult to see anyone being interested in them.
