This is a great idea, my CV is in the post. Experience - shouting at my sons U8s team from the touchline and coaching my dog. I'm sure they will consider me for the job. I'll take 'em down, don't you worry!!!
I am writing to apply for the position of Football Manager, as advertised recently on a poster in a back alley somewhere in Docklands.
I am a confident and capable football manager with four years experience as manager of The Red Lion in the London and Kent Border League.
In my present role, I meet the challenge of a very difficult situation managing players who are invariably half drunk every Sunday morning and 'very much up for a fight.' Many of my players are, like the majority of people involved at Millwall, ex-criminals and violent thugs. On non-matchdays I fulfill extra roles such as overseeing work programs, transport to and from players' community service, and restraint on 'are you dissing me / come here and say that' situations. The role demands that I recognise potentially high-risk situations and find a solution before they escalate – or, if they do escalate, deal with them swiftly and appropriately.
Throughout my football management experience, I have endeavoured to perform my duties with professionalism and diligence. Impartial and fair, I am commended for my cool-headed and diplomatic approach to player and supporter conflicts. I am comfortable using force to apprehend or immobilise spectators or opposition players, but only as a last resort, or if they are taking the piss.
I am physically fit, with time out of work spent pursuing sporting interests. A few decades ago, for example, I organised many of the most infamous rucks with that Inter City mob scum from across the river.
I have since obtained an NVQ in Corrections Practice. I also possess an enduring interest in crime and criminology generally. This interest led me to read a book about Criminology and Criminal Justice this year.
My resume is attached and I look forward to being able to discuss the position with you further.
What is it about Jackett that makes him so likeable? I'm not saying this in a combative sense - because I'm firmly in the same camp. In fact, him leaving the spanners has made me doubly happy - because not only does it instantly raise the chances of them sinking without trace next season, but I can also now dispel the tiny feeling of dirtiness I have every time I see him being interviewed and liking how he comes across and what he says. I can't ever remember someone so closely associated with those turds being so warmly appreciated by us - so what exactly is it about him that makes him such a top bloke?
Work with a spanner who mentioned the link to Darren Ferguson.
Told him "I had seen that and that I certainly like the attacking way his teams play, but little defence usually. That would actually suit your boys! Like attacking and generally no defence for when the fans do so!!"

Honesty, modesty, realistic & he's praised Charlton in the past.

i really think this is the start of a tailspin into oblivion for them and i predict right now, they will not exist in 5 years time as they do now - in that stadium, in the championship - they will be league 1 or 2 in a groundshare somewhere - as long as it ain't with us, that will be superb - it keeps the sh*t filter working but only just.
yes, but by all accounts they have money issues..............so could be a goer.
Maybe he wants to move down South again for personal reasons (property/family still down here from his Watford days?) but it's hardly a step up, football wise. At least Burnley have made the PL :-)
