Not good enough by a long long way. Green had a perfect opportunity to stake a claim and was clueless. Yann played too deep and therefore won no flicks and was negated and looked lost. Sordell isolated and not even feeding off scraps. There were none. Gower looks ok and Stephens did ok too. Wiggins was awful and Solly looked like a fish out of water with Green in front of him. Dervite and Morro looked ok ish. Harriot tried his hardest. Easiest three points Borough will get. Our first attempt on goal came on 54 minutes and I could have saved it. Today was an absolute disaster. Was either of the terrible twins there to witness ? Pissed off and concerned.

Pretty sure I could see TJ from my seat in the North Upper.

As for the game I am struggling to remember a worse midfield display than that. Jackson has been rushed back yet again because Powell clearly thinks we are going to struggle without him. Gower was hopeless, gave the ball away in dangerous areas constantly. As for Green - pathetic. If that is his idea of staking a claim for a first team spot then he needs to take a look at himself. He doesn't defend, he doesn't attack and his dead ball delivery is shite. Don't want to hammer Harriot too much as he at least tried, but someone needs to explain to him that there is a time and place for fancy step overs. Stephens was typical Stephens, looked like he might get us going for 5-10mins and then vanished.

Wiggins was given a torrid time and Solly got the run around as well. Unfortunately with Green in front of him he going to be horribly exposed against any winger with any level of skill. Neither centre half looked comfortable and to be honest Morrison looks to have carried on his poor form from the end of last season.

Front two totally isolated, with Yann getting more and more frustrated and dropping deeper and deeper to try and get some of the ball. Won't write Sordell off but there was nothing there today which would suggest he is going to be anything more than a 5-6 goals a season man. He goes down far too easily and him and Yann appeared on totally different wave lengths. Church at least looked a willing runner.

Can't not mention Hamer. Awful for the goal. Came, stopped, flapped and gifted it to them.

Our sole tactic in the second half seemed to be to play 2-3 backwards passes and then lump a crossfield pass to Yann who usually had 2-3 players marking him. Movement off the ball totally non-existant and to be honest the whole team looked like strangers no-one looked like a leader. Last 10mins were horrible as we actually seemed to give up.

My real concern is that we simply do not have the funds to address the midfield situation. If we play the season with that midfield we aren't going to create anything and are going to properly struggle.

Sordell for me also needs to try harder... He's had a longer (and apparently quite a good one at that) pre-season yet when Church came on the effort was clear to see (i.e. forcing the keeper into the sliced kick)

Completely agree. Doesn't look a grafter - especially worrying on a full home debut

What do you expect for a "crack" player?

Large has weighed, measured and judged him already - and we all know what an astute and accomplished judge of players he is!

He is a player who plays off the defenders shoulder and likes balls into his feet and into channels for him to run onto. Unfortunately that's not going to happen when we play hoof ball into Yann.

Thought the game was summed up when Gower albeit having a player about a foot direct infront of him tried to kick it through him , which then lead to the defence scrambling it away for a corner ... And as they say , the rest is history

To be fair he didn't run the channels at all today, always wanted it to feet a la big ric. It was only his second game though and as earlier stated, the midfield was beyond shocking.he had a half chance which he glanced to green with hus head but we didn't actually see him anywhere near the goal with the ball at his feet

Church did run the channels well though when he came on, looked promising.

Not knocking Church's effort at all but how desperate are we that all we can find to cheer is a player chasing lost causes.

Not panicking. But my god, that was woeful.

Plan A: lump it to Kermorgant
Plan B: lump it to Kermorgant
Plan C: lump it to Kermorgant

    Etc

Stephens made us a bit more positive in the second half, and Church made some good runs. Apart from that I haven't got any positives.

Proof again today that Pritchard far exceeds Danny Green. Everyone said that he has 3 games to prove himself, yet he gets pulled off after 70 odd minutes.

Powell is still working out his best team after an uncertain pre season and Sordell arriving late. It's two games into the season. Pritchard is suspended and Jackson is injured. I assume Hughes is injured as well. Things will improve. Chill man.

if you had parted with a long one today to travel and watch that like I have, you would not be "chilling"...
Oh,you made an effort to support your team and things didn't live up to your expectations? You poor fucker,We all feel your pain.

Two games in and people are already pissing their knickers. Fucking pathetic.

Wish somebody had pulled me off after 70 minutes. Would have been more enjoyable than watching that dross.

Hopefully people are intelligent enough, not to go OTT on this result. Performance was woeful. But 2 out 46 fellas...

It's going to be a slog this year. We all knew that anyway didnt we? Our squad in comparison to the most others is weaker.

We will plough our way through it. I'm sure we won't be one of the worst three teams who go down.

    COYR!

Going backwards, shipping players out and bringing in worse. Someone tell me why a striker who scores 2 midweek sits on the bench?

Others have summed it up. Worse than crap. Thank god I had to go pay as you go this year instead of forking out 475 large for a season ticket. Absolutely the same issues as last year. Gower is crap. Sordell is talented but lazy and stroppy. Yann looks like he has been on a mars bar diet. I'm Green's biggest supporter and always want him in the side but he was shite today. Only pass marks go to Dervite. What makes it all the more frustrating was how we tried to play on Tuesday night. I know it was only Oxford but we played great footy to feet. Back to league duties and our first team and we are utter gash. Not slitting my wrists yet but this will be. Relegation battle.

    Our new kit looks nice.

And not more of the side starting... Piss poor showing all hoofball from the back... Yann showing his undesirable side, rolling all over the floor too many fecking times!

Not fully fit and we have just blasted a fair few quid on Sordell.

Just back home and cannot believe what I've just witnessed, absolutely shocking performance especially being the 1st home game where you'd think the players are right up for it. Really struggling to take any positives from that... Dervite dealt with Jutkiewicz ok.. That's pretty much it! Wiggins had an absolute mare against Adomah and Solly wasn't much better although he was abit more exposed with Danny Walkabout Green leaving him to deal with 2 players everytime they attacked. Midfield was so slow on the ball and without and we just seemed to lack any gameplan or creativity except hoofing to yann most of the game. What was really worrying was the lack of leadership and how the game just fizzled out, where was the desire to finish the game strongly and try saving a point? It just never materialised and just seemed like heads dropped the last 10 minutes. Danny Green doesn't deserve another chance after that showing and if he's our dead ball specialist than god help us! Stephens looked usefull in patches but seemed to go missing far too much of the 2nd half as he normally does. Gower could be decent with some movement around him and some driving force pushing us forward but we are so static at times it's unreal, distribution today was embarrassing. I'm hoping it was one of them games today and thought we'd be lucky to scrape a 0-0 after 70 minutes but there goal summed up a total crap day and performance. Anyone for Barnsley....

CP didnt stay long at the press conference either. Not a happy chap. He knows how woeful that was, along with the rest of us.

What sums it up was Danny Greens throw ins were more dangerous than his crosses!

    Utter w@nk.

Kermo was an embarassment spent more time on the floor than anything else, needs to man up.

Wiggins was bounded about as prem class eh... Have a laugh.

Stephens looked good when he came on and defence was ok until Hamer had a nightmare decision.

Thankfully on holiday for next couple of games.

Didn't think we could be worse than last week but we managed it.

Would love to see our pass completion stats as I am struggling to rememer a game where we gave away so much cheap possession. Looked like a bunch of strangers to each other.

Dorian only one of our defence to turn up today, the midfield has rightly already been picked apart on here and it was summed up for me when Sordell and Yann contrrived to cock up one of our rare chances between them leaving Yann in a heap on the deck.

They played little triangles around us but didn't really look like scoring until Ben decided to join in with the clusterf***...

Posting without reading, but what struck me was how unfit the lads were. Kermo looks a stone over weight and players were dead on their feet buy the end.

Doesn't bode well when Bournemouth deservedly beat us last weekend, then get trounced to day.

Against a team that has won 3 league games in 2013 and who lost at home on Tuesday to a L2 club, why were we so lethargic and hesitant from the very beginning ? Why did we not put them under any kind of pressure ? If this is how we perform - supposedly setting out our stall in the first home game of the season - against a team seriously out of form, then we can brace ourselves for some severe embarrassment when we meet the better teams. I try to be an optimist but today the team gave a scandalous performance.
