There were to many games in quick session for me to do Round 1 updates from the European Masters
John Higgins and Joe Perry were the only top 16 player not to make it through losing 5-4 to Martin Gould and Robbie Williams respectively other than that no major shocks a couple of minor ones like Thepchaiya Un-Nooh losing to Liam Highfield and Allan Taylor beating Noppon Saengkham
Round 2 started last night so will start updates from now
Allan Taylor 5-3 Ben Woollaston Judd Trump 5-1 Lukas Kleckers Michael Holt 5-2 Jamie Jones Luca Brecel 5-1 Ali Carter Martin O'Donnell 5-4 David Grace Jamie Clarke 5-4 Matt Selt Joe O'Connor 5-2 Scott Donaldson Yan Bingtao 5-3 Ryan Day
His first tournament as a pro player and round 2 he faces a former world champion in Mark Williams
He goes 4-1 ahead then Williams fights back to 4-4 and under imense pressure Devlin gets his first pro century in a final frame decider to win 5-4, that shows bottle
Like Devlin its his first tournament as a pro player in the the 2nd round he is against current world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan
He goes 3-1 ahead before Ronnie wins 3 in a row yo go 4-3 ahead, but does that face Hill, not a chance he takes the the 2 frames including a good 78 break in the final frame decider to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-4
Stephen Maguire 5-3 James Cahill Mark Davis 5-4 Nigel Bond Zhou Yuelong 5-2 Jak Jones Tom Ford 5-4 Antoni Kowalski Dave Gilbert 5-3 Rob Milkins Matthew Stevens 5-1 Xiao Guodong Peter Devlin 5-4 Mark Williams Mark Selby 5-0 Gao Yang Mark Allen 5-0 Ken Doherty Ding Junhui 5-3 Hossein Vafaei Martin Gould 5-1 Ian Burns Duane Jones 5-3 Andrew Higginson Anthony McGill 5-2 Peter Lines Neil Robertson 5-2 Riley Parsons Kyren Wilson 5-0 Chris Wakelin Pang Junxu 5-1 Robbie Williams Ashley Carty 5-1 Simon Lichtenberg Lyu Haotian 5-2 Graeme Dott Barry Hawkins 5-1 Jordan Brown Aaron Hill 5-4 Ronnie O'Sullivan Jackson Page 5-4 Jack Lisowski Shaun Murphy 5-3 Alan McManus Stuart Bingham 5-1 Chen Zifan Liam Highfield 5-4 Fraser Patrick
Peter Devlin and Aaron Hill are players to watch based on there performances today, I watched both matches and was very impressed
Great to see 2 new/young players on the tour who have kicked off with impressive wins. I had Ronnie on in the background but wasn't really watching, at pool... great win.
I haven't been following much this week but thanks for the updates Paulie, i've flicked over the odd time but not really in watch snooker mood.
Mark Davis has pulled out after his cue was stolen from his car meaning Mark Selby gets his 2nd bye of the tournament
Round 1-bye due to Covid Round 2-5-0 win Round 3-by3 to due theft
Thats disappointing, i know you can get attached to a cue but surely he could have borrowed one or even a racker worst case. Poor reason to withdraw imo
Mark Allen 5-2 Ashley Carty Mark Selby W/O Mark Davis Ding Junhui 5-4 Lyu Haotian Tom Ford 5-1 Stephen Maguire Stuart Bingham 5-4 Liam Highfield Pang Junxu 5-2 Barry Hawkins Neil Robertson 5-2 Allan Taylor Shaun Murphy 5-1 Zhou Yuelong Martin Gould 5-2 Jamie Clarke Yan Bingtao 5-1 Duane Jones Anthony McGill 5-4 Dave Gilbert Kyren Wilson 5-2 Martin O'Donnell Jackson Page 5-3 Luca Brecel Aaron Hill 5-3 Matthew Stevens Judd Trump 5-1 Michael Holt Peter Devlin 5-4 Joe O'Connor

He's had it 20 years. John Parris made him a replica a few years ago which he will use if it doesn't get returned. I bought my cue in about 1985. Every other cue just feels weird when you've had a cue for that long.
Neil Robertson 5-2 Pang Junxu Shaun Murphy 5-4 Tom Ford Ding Junui 5-2 Mark Allen Mark Selby 5-4 Stuart Bingham Judd Trump 5-0 Jackson page Kyren Wilson 5-2 Anthony McGill Martin Gould 5-3 Peter Devlin Yan Bingtao 5-1 Aaron Hill
Been without internet since my last post lol, so I couldn't update this.
Mark Selby beat Martin Gould in the European Masters final

Oh i get that, i have had mine since i was 15, i used to use for snooker but retipped and use for pool now i dont play snooker. I have a 2nd cue which although is ok it doesn't feel right and the same with the reaction i get from it.
BTW the cue was handed in, cant remember the full story but someone said that its been found/handed in.
I think as a professional no matter how tough it is, he should have found a way to play, its not like losing an arm... although he might think it is lol

Was it Stephen Hendry who said that his cue was a complete pile of shit, but he would never change it because that’s all he knows?

There was also surprise defeats for Scott Donaldson against Andy Hicks
Martin Gould again Steven Hallworth
Ali Carter again Jamie Clarke
All of those finished 4-1 to the lower ranked player
Other than that they pretty much went as expected for the final result.
Ding had a scare he was 3-0 behind but recovered.
O'Sullivan was 2-0 behind before winning 4 in a row.
And there qere comfortable 4-0 victories for Selby and Robertson.
