    126. Riley Parsons
    127. Steve Mifsud

Some of those below the top 64 cut of were on the first year of their 2 year tour card so they were safe, so the players that were relegated were.

    Ken Doherty
    Michael Georgiou
    Michael White
    Zhang Anda
    Sam Baird
    Alfie Burden
    Craig Steadman
    John Astley
    Mike Dunn
    Lee Walker
    Oliver Lines
    Harvey Chandler
    Kishan Hirani

    James Wattana
    Fan Zhengyi
    Hammad Miah
    Thor Chuan Leong
    Zhang Jiankang
    Andy Lee
    Simon Lichtenberg
    Adam Stefanow

But since then we have had Q School so we now know that:
    Lee Walker
    Simon Lichtenberg
    Fan Zhengyi
    Oliver Lines
Regained their tour card straight away.

Still waiting to hear if Ken Doherty or James Wattana will be receiving an invitation Tour Card or if thats it for them, will do a fully update on the list of tpur players next season when I know about those 2 for sure.
I see Alfie Burden has retired.
  • Yeah not really surprised tbh.

Was more shocked he went to Q School, he said a few months ago if he dropped out of the top 64 that would be it.

I follow him on twitter and he never seems to bothered about snooker, not one to be practicing loads and probably still wishes he made it as a footballer rather than a snooker player.

He doesn't seem like the sort of person who would go around on the q tour trying to get a the odd win here and there not on the big stage, there was no way he would do that, so when he failed at Q School he was always going to call it a day imo

Although I wouldn't be surprised to see him try Q School again in a couple of years time, if he gets bored
  • Apologies its 129 on the tour the original article on Hendrys return was slightly misleading and mentioned Wattana getting an invitational tour card but they meant  in the last and he hasnt been given one for the upcoming season, so I have removed James Wattana and these are the 129 confirmed players for the upcoming season

14 year old Boiko will face O'Sullivan 🤦‍♂️ nice start for him haha as well as Borg and Hang

As for the three 16 year olds

Gao Yang has Selt, Woollaston and Jiahui
Zhao Jianbo has Yuelong, Walden and Greene
Jamie Wilson has Allen, Honghao and Castle
  • 147 RYAN DAY

Well that was some way to ease back into snooker lol

Ryan Day makes the 158th 147 and his 2nd, his first came in October 2014
  • Judd Trump and Ryan Day won Group 1 and 2 today and advance into the next stage
  • Barry Hawkins and Rob Milkins won Group 3 and 4 today and advance into the next stage
  • I haven't really been following this i've been swamped, i noticed it was on freesports earlier not sure if it is much but that will be good. Obviously i always watch pool on there Monday nights (well recorded) good to see them get some snooker too.

Had noticed that, i have been waching it on matchroomlive for free
  • Dominic Dale and Zhou Yuelong are the 2 players who progress to the next stage from Group 5 and 6

Zhao Jianbo who is now 17 not 16 he had a birthday a couple of weeks ago, will be disappointed he finished 2nd on frame difference but if he had beaten Gerard Greene in the final match would have topped the group in his first event, he looks a good talent tho
  • Not updated this for a few days as I have been preoccupied lol.

Murphy and Selt went through from Group 7 and 8

Gilbert and Xintong went through from group 10 and this is where the groups go out of order 21 lol

Bloody stupid they had all been in order until now and suddenly they are out of order lol.

Bingham then went through from group 12 along with Guodong from group 18

Then today McLeod and Dott went through from group 13 and 14
  • A quick update from the European Masters

Daniel Wells and Gary Wilson pulled out after positive covid tests

Then Michael White, Elliott Slessor and David Lilley were withdrawn by World Snooker for having contact with either Wells or Wilson

There were to many games in quick session for me to do Round 1 updates from the European Masters

John Higgins and Joe Perry were the only top 16 player not to make it through losing 5-4 to Martin Gould and Robbie Williams respectively other than that no major shocks a couple of minor ones like Thepchaiya Un-Nooh losing to Liam Highfield and Allan Taylor beating Noppon Saengkham

Round 2 started last night so will start updates from now

    Yan Bingtao 5-3 Ryan Day
  • Before I do todays update I feel 3 players deserve some praise
  • edited September 2020
    firstly Mark Allen:

    Beat Ken Doherty 5-0
    Frame 1-break of 134
    Frame 2-break of 101
    Frame 3-break of 141
    Frame 4-break of 145

Mark restricted Doherty to 12 points in the whole match
  • edited September 2020
    secondly Peter Devlin

His first tournament as a pro player and round 2 he faces a former world champion in Mark Williams

He goes 4-1 ahead then Williams fights back to 4-4 and under imense pressure Devlin gets his first pro century in a final frame decider to win 5-4, that shows bottle
  • And finally Aaron Hill

Like Devlin its his first tournament as a pro player in the the 2nd round he is against current world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan

He goes 3-1 ahead before Ronnie wins 3 in a row yo go 4-3 ahead, but does that face Hill, not a chance he takes the the 2 frames including a good 78 break in the final frame decider to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-4

Great to see 2 new/young players on the tour who have kicked off with impressive wins. I had Ronnie on in the background but wasn't really watching, at pool... great win.

I haven't been following much this week but thanks for the updates Paulie, i've flicked over the odd time but not really in watch snooker mood.

Thats disappointing, i know you can get attached to a cue but surely he could have borrowed one or even a racker worst case. Poor reason to withdraw imo

He's had it 20 years. John Parris made him a replica a few years ago which he will use if it doesn't get returned.
I bought my cue in about 1985. Every other cue just feels weird when you've had a cue for that long.
