Yann is important to how we play now and has been a great player for us no doubt
But there is a big part of me slightly resentful that his feelings towards scp outweigh the feelings to the badge and ourselves as fans
In all honesty I want him to sign and I will be pissed if he goes to bournemouth but if he goes it is not as big a loss that some of you are making out
Wonderful player atimes unplayable can be a beast who runs through several brick walls in a game but Legend no way not yet

By friday we will know and tbh I wouldn't be surprised to see yann church and 2 or 3 other strikers be here then
Yann is important to our play today but who knows by next week

By no means are we a one man side but he is extremely influential and important in the eyes of the manager, the players and the fans.

Him wanting to go is a situation that we shouldn't be in. The fact that we may be in that situation is the fault of a number of things which were in the previous owners control, but they ignored. The problem is if he got injured we couldnt use him, and we would be weakend.
Selling him to a rival weakens us AND strengthens a close rival1 -

I have to agree with nla here. I'm not saying Yann isn't an important player but 400k is good business for a player almost out of contract and who for all we know has said he wants to go.
If we used that 400k to pay the wages and loan fees for a couple of decent loan signings (for example Simeon Jackson and Chris Wood) and also got the iranian in then would anyone really claim we'd be as good as relegated.
I can totally see why people wouldn't want him sold (and to be honest i don't either) but just trying to look at it from another point of view.0 -
I was under the impression the trigger was that after x games, we'd be obliged to OFFER a new (and presumably improved) contract, not extend the old one automatically (so he would only be out of contract in summer by his own volition instead of being cut loose like Haynes and Fuller.) So this could well have happened but he won't sign up til CP's own contractual status is cleared up.Rob62 said:

Yann is a HUGE part of the camaraderie at this club. Camaraderie that we will most definitely need in the coming months if we want any chance of staying in this league.

If Yann doesn't start tonight I reckon it's time to worry. Until that point, I'm assuming this is never going to happen and will pretend everything is going to be ok.

Of course clubs are going to be interested in our best players when they are out of contract we can't help speculation but I expect Powell, Yann and Wiggins to sign new deals.0

They have a very rich owner and we have players out of contract very soon. All a bit demoralising even to be discussing it.
Yann has not been 'happy' from what I have seen and heard all season, and I think it has shown in some games. I'm sure he is not the only player that fits into this category.
The club was governed for the bulk of this season with a huge cloud of uncertainty over it. Change has now occurred, later than hoped, but that uncertainty seems to have continued.
I hope and expect this all to positively resolve itself, however I think we are starting to get glimpses of the impact of some of the behind the scenes uncertainty of the last 10 months.
Hopefully the fact that you simply don't sell your best players if you are in a relegation battle will win the day.3 -

They have a bit of money though don't they. Their Russian owner has spent a few quid this season, didn't they spend over 2m on a striker in the summer?

Thank Gawd there's only 3 more days of this transfer window left. The way things are going, I can see us having a whole new team by Saturday. I just hope they can gel to keep us safe before the relegation axe falls1
