Yann was injured earlier in the season and did not start in any game between Hudds away and Leeds at home, in that time we played 9 Championship games and scored 6 goals. In the 16 Championship games he has started we have scored 16 goals.

Although we did get two of our wins in this period against Brum and Bburn. Agree though he is so important to us.
  • With the interest in Kermorgant and Wiggins from Bournemouth and the interest in Stephens from Brighton, I have to say to be getting a tad nervous. If we were to sell these three and only replace them with loans from Standard Leige or others from the RD stable, I would be very worried about our chances of staying up. Make Chris Powell's position almost untenable as I'm sure he couldn't agree to it.
  • Just relax and breath all will be ok

    Charlton: no deal
Dale: I hear that Brighton are after me. Since I'm not getting a new contract here atm, I submit a transfer request.

  • Strange how everyone was saying that Dale would only bugger off if a Northern club came in for him as he was unsettled down South etc...

i.e. Were they using the Iain Dowie voice on their TomToms? (Either that or Dowie is Stephens' agent)
  • Love that Nicholas, Have a like

Stop worrying. I tell you all whats going to happen. We are going to keep all our players, we are going to get a couple of strikers come in, in the next few days. powell will get given a contract and so will a few of the key players. There will be a buzz around the camp till the end of the season and we will finish comfortably in the mid table 6 points off the playoffs. We will strengthen even more in the summer and finish in the top 6 next season. Lets look forward to beating Doncaster 1-0 after another boring first half COYR

If we are not in the champs league in 3 seasons time I will be deeply upset.

  • Also who else has a bit of Deja Vu... We beat a team on Boxing day then that club comes in for one of our main midfielders towards the end of the January Transfer Window... Does sound a bit familiar

If yann wants to go then let him, if players still want to leave even though we have been taken over then its time for them to move on while we may still get money for them. As someone else mentoned, if they have a bigger bond with Powell than the club then off they go.

Not really sure why that should be the case. Powell brought him in and has given him the most consistent period of his career. If CP leaves then that is absolutely going to affect Yann's mentality. Football is very much a people and relationship business outside the Premier League, as it should be.
  • I don't normally read the transfer window threads, but this one is a real page-turner. I can't wait to find out what happens in the end. No spoilers please.
  • Thinking about it though, why would any of these players leave with an FA Cup Final to look forward to?

    And European football of course.

Brighton have made a bid for Charlton midfielder Dale Stephens, Sky sources understand.

The highly-rated 24-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in the past 18 months, including Aston Villa, who failed with a bid in the summer of 2012.

Now Brighton are looking to land Stephens, who has been with Charlton since joining from Oldham in 2011.

Oscar Garcia is keen to bolster his squad and has identified Stephens as one of his main targets.

Brighton failed with a bid for Middlesbrough winger Muzzy Carayol over the weekend.

This was always going to happen all the while our key players only have 6 months left on their contracts. We had a new team 3 years ago when that served us well. We'll have a better team next season. The futures bright, the future's red n white...COYR
  • Rich Cawley: Brighton bid for Dale Stephens. Led to believe talks quite advanced.

It was all actually Pam Ewing's dream and Yann and Stephens were never sold and RD was not playing up front for us.
  • lot's of outward rumours but barely none inwards. IF we were to lose two of Kermy, Wiggo and Stephens we'd need to sign at least five players by Friday.

  • If we sell then we'll need to bring in a replacement.

    Oh dear. Where's the 'Don't Like' button\?
  • Bridcutt will leave Brighton this week, Stephens is lined up as a straight replacement by the looks of it, so we may get decent money for him
  • Charlton fans today

Stephens would be foolish to go now. Might as well see out his contract with us - become a free agent and probably double his wages as there is no transfer fee

  • lot's of outward rumours but barely none inwards.

That's not exactly true is it.
  • With all these rumours upsetting the team might be worth a bet on donny tonight ..............................or maybe its donny fans putting them out there lol .
  • Tomorrow is D day me thinks!

there is only so many times that you can put your head in the sand, or your fingers in your ears and say that it will be ok come 11pm Friday.

I am now starting to get worried - no real news of quality, experienced players coming in and all we are now hearing is of good quality players going. AA & Reza Goochi may be good players but not sure they are the [layers we need for a relegation battle on a mud heap of a pitch.

All RD needed to do was to get CP signed up onto a new deal last week when he was here & tell the squad that they would be next - but the silence is deafening

You reap what you sow & MS & TJ's decision to let contracts run out is now coming home to roost.

  • No way would powelly have let stephens talk to brighton and play tonight

If dale plays tonight then talks are not advanced

If dale don't play then its done and dusted
