If Yann has come back to us and said I'll sign for just a bit more and we knock him back then he will go. He'd lose a lot of face if he signed after that. Hope he does though.

Yann doesn't just have the choice of new contract with us or AFCB.
He can sit it out here for another five months and then become a free agent.
That is a big risk for him as an injury could mean no deal or AFCB and CAFC may decide to not offer as good a deal or a deal at all. Or Yann could do better.
People have spoken about an option for another year and this being triggered by a set number of games. Not sure if that is true or who makes that decision, Yann or the Club but that is another spanner in the works.
I hope he stays. He is ready to play now, he is proven and he knows this league. He could be even better alongside better, faster players.

I am not sure a player at his time in his career will take that risk tbh. He will want to sign for someone now for a few years, as you say the risk of injury would be too big a chance to take, especially as he has not been the most consistently fit player we have had. we will find out tomorrow, its like Christmas Eve on here today.

But if he goes then he goes and we move on.
He's going to millwall ... Crap ;-)
no swearing on this site..... Millwall joke I take it!
Very surprised we made Yann a REDUCED offer, seems to me that might have been designed to get him to talk to other clubs NOW so that we actually get a fee for him rather than him leaving for nothing in the close season.
I can't see anyone offering a 32 year-old striker a three year deal, that is nuts.
Insulting to offer him reduced terms after he dragged us to the top of League One and then played a huge role in comfortably keeping us up last season. Would you accept reduced terms if you'd performed like that in your job?

It's a sad way to treat a guy who has been such an important member of the club the past few seasons.
I don't think he wants to leave, but he is being offered less money by us for a new contract and so is looking around. If Celtic come in I'm sure he would be off, but maybe b'mouth doesn't really do it for him ( it wouldn't me ) & he is waiting to see what might happen tomorrow - perhaps his agent is sounding out other clubs to guage if there is interested anywhere else.
I would like Yann to stay, his qualities and importance range far beyond the pitch. But if he goes, he goes, but the fans remain. It needn't derail the entire team if we get behind them and cheer them on through good and bad and everything in between. I wish him the best whatever he decides, but I support Charlton Athletic, not Yann Kermorgant. If this is where those paths part ways, I will still be behind CP and the team every step of the way.
The new regime is showing its true metal today. Hard as nails no mucking about business acumen at play here. The previous mob were handicapped by there being so many personalities and egos involved. RD is the boss man.
Agree, maybe the new owners don't like the fact that they feel Yann was trying to play them, so their attitude is, go then. football would be a better game if this attitude was more prevalent rather than letting players dictate.
If Yann loved cafc as much as everyone claims, he would have signed the deal. He's looked for more money (fair enough) but don't buy into this he loves cafc sh*te.
Yann will go IMO but I have no complaints aslong as we replace sufficiently
Really want Yann to stay, can't see it unfortunately. Personally think reduced terms is an insult to Yann but I am biased.
I believe he does love the club, but he needs to ensure he has security for his family, this was mentioned at the Eltham Addicks meeting in September. If Bournemouth are offering a longer/more lucrative contract then of course he may go and he goes with my best wishes.
I am just disappointed it could be Bournemouth, with all due respect they are not a step up, will always be overshadowed by Saints and when the money runs out/Howe leaves they will be back in the lower leagues. Celtic I could understand (50k fans/trophies/Champ League etc).

Two year at Bournemouth. Only one year here.
Wow, if we did offer him a one-year deal on reduced terms then you can't blame him for turning it down, bit of a slap in the face.

Made me laugh!

I reckon he'll go, but not to b'mouth.
Even if he stays, he probably won't be first choice next year, though his experience may well help keep us up this year!
If I were a bournemouth fan I'd be telling yann to fuk off
Coming back here to see if we offer more is a cheek
Yann should accept or leave the deal on the table was not a short term deal its the wages he is not happy with
Good luck to the lad.

Reckon Yann wanted 3 years and Bournemouth say yes.

where else are the thick feckers gonna earn a tenth of what they do playing?
