I want Charlton to give Yann a 2 year deal and if it has to be on a reduced basic, fine, but with improved appearance and goal bonuses to maintain his earning potential. Far from being surplus to requirements with the new guys coming in, I think Yann could be an essential ingredient for a successful end to this season. His value to the team goes way beyond his performances - his fighting spirit and passion are inspirational and he could play a major role in helping a fairly disrupted squad to gel effectively.
The relationship he has with CP and also with us fans, is also a major factor. I doubt he has ever felt as loved by the fans as he is here, and he knows that CP rates him and has his back 100%. That will count for a lot.
Very surprised we made Yann a REDUCED offer, seems to me that might have been designed to get him to talk to other clubs NOW so that we actually get a fee for him rather than him leaving for nothing in the close season.
I can't see anyone offering a 32 year-old striker a three year deal, that is nuts.
Two year at Bournemouth. Only one year here.
Wow, if we did offer him a one-year deal on reduced terms then you can't blame him for turning it down, bit of a slap in the face.
Yann is desperate to stay.
RD will not offer long term/lucrative deals to "older" players. In a business sense, they hold no "value", they are depreciating items.
We will see if Yann takes the offer on the table, or if he goes elsewhere. He needs to think of his wife and kids.
I thought we needed some older more experienced heads in the team before all the recent activity - now with Stephens and possibly Yann (x fingers, touch wood, please no) going we definitely do.
but he is not keeping us up at the moment, maybe he has been a shining light in a sea of mediocrity, hopefully he will stay, but if he moves on, so can we.

Exactly, while I adore the Beast of Breton as much as the next Addick he has hardly been in the best form of his Charlton career recently. You can point out the off field shenanigans, and fairly so, but for whatever reason the team has been playing poorly for some time, including Yann. If he stuck around and got his best form back, I would be overjoyed, but I support CAFC, not Yann Kermorgant. If the paths split henceforth, I will be at the Valley cheering on the players still here.
If I were Yann I'd just keep my head down and see the contract out score the goals to keep us up then show Roly what he's missing when he can effectively choose where he wants to go in the summer, or Roly rolls over and offer a him a good deal.... Roly Rolls maybe a new line on half time butties....
For most footballers below the Prem there is only one way that their wages can go with FFP ..... and that is down. The good years have gone and they have to face reality like the rest of us!
NA good shout. Roly doesn't appreciate dynamics of squad and after Yann sers up Reza for 20 goals to drag us into play offs he may change his assessment.

Exactly right. There are going to be an awful lot of footballers feeling 'insulted' by being offered reduced terms. FFP will make it inevitable and they will have to get used to working for as much as three or four weeks to earn as much as most people on here earn in a year.

Effectively then Roland is trying to involve himself in the team as Powell clearly has the power to say 'I want him to get a 2 year deal' which we would logically all think is the case.
That's enough stress for one day, I'm off to bed. See you all tomorrow for another rollercoaster of rumours, suspicion and conspiracies, not to mention the hideous image of that ugly tax dodger gurning out of his Range Rover every 5 minutes. Sweet dreams all!

Yann - take a small step back.
Charlton - take a small step up.
Make the deal happen. Make everyone happy.
Is is what CP said to Roland before he was threatened with the sack?
Yann's number one priority is to his family He has to think what is best for their future and weigh in to that the upheaval of moving He would obviously prefer to have the deal offered to him by Bournemouth offered by Charlton We have offered different and therefore he has a decision to make Those saying he should sign for us on the lesser terms are living in cuckoo land Having seen most of our games over the last couple of months I beg to differ with those who try and streamline the teams general crapness in line with his performances He has been the standout player plenty of times and it must be hugely frustrating for him passing to shit players with ability far below his The fella is a class act and WILL be missed If he goes it will be for a more secure future for his family and he goes with my best wishes and a bit of a whole in my heart(nowhere near as big as the void that will be left the day SCP departs) Good luck to Yann wherever that may be
If we signed an England under 21 people would be very happy , and Belgium are prob better than England . I'll be pleased if it comes off . Think were gonna have a busy day.

Sky's Bryan Swanson.
Yeah, give him a second contract ya shit.

Having seen most of our games over the last couple of months I beg to differ with those who try and streamline the teams general crapness in line with his performances
He has been the standout player plenty of times and it must be hugely frustrating for him passing to shit players with ability far below his

Yann kermorgant, I just don't think you understand
cos if you sell yann,
Yann kermorgant, You're gonna have a riot on your hands.
"@d_demyttenaere: Standard DM Ibrahima #Cisse (@Ibracisse44) can be loaned to @CAFCofficial (without option) if he accepts the contract proposed by #cafc"
Too early to moan that he's a DM and not a playmaker or winger?...
BUT if we stay up, that'll do me just fine.
