Man City away would be the best draw for you.

I am going to comment on this match as i think it should put a lot of peoples minds at rest. I did actually get a chance to listen to the full 90 (well about 81 actually due to the downtime on player)

(I will repost this para on the.CAFC player thread but IMO thats one for the trust or any supporter with relavant skills to add value by doing some legwork. I have a feeling we just havent got the specialist skills inhouse which is understandable as we dont need a full time employee for this. I would be fairly confident of where the problem lies as there is no good vaid reason for this constant poor service. It is simply the "upload contractor" at fault. We know these because most of us spend half the time listening to other teams players. I am sure if anyone looked in detail the issue is with whoever is handling the connectivity between receiving the broadcast and then uploading it onto our site. Clearly a localised issue which became fully apparent to me when the mightily resourced League Two Oxford Utd's was perfect us was poor. I am sure a few fans who work in the business application IT sector could recommend a good optiom because the current 100% Pure Wasteman ;)

On the game itself, my first observation is the background to the fixture...tricky away sides to teams probably losing 5 games at home all season. These games tell you where your general team level is at. I think it was.leeds.away last season which gave me enough evidence that we were easily good enough for too 15 and no chance of relegation.

Unless the 4 crucial playing assets are sold before the end of the window...i am 100% certain we will not go down now. Team has shape and balance. I actually think players such as church and wilson are top half.champ players. If churchy.gets 15 this.season we will need to pre-order a special reserve of humble pie for all the naesayers. He is a quality.little footballer..
unfortunately he cant kick the ball that hard as oooaah would say "doesnt possess an adult's shot" (ive grown.to love that expression;)

I would go on to that, as per last season, we are already through.the worst. I cant see us having to rely on sordell and.piggott (no offence joe btw...u will be quality and have game already but being expected to perform and.make up for others' shortcomings its not what u need at the mo)

Son of curbs is be his very nature fairly nonreactive in the short term. He sets his teams up, backs his judgement and does change things just to see if a change is the answer. Oft it is not.

I dont think we got a 9th in us this season until we sig a fuller-type player to really make powelly's low scoring tactics work. Our gameplan will involve a fair few one nils in any given stretch. If we can get that one "beast/monsta" to stick on the top of the tree then the whole team will benefit. Fuller was perfect as if u give to him, it sticks. I bet.m house thats they.type SCP.is.looking.for but you.need great.touch.and.physicality for that role. I dont want to.see us.sign a striker who would just replicate church's role. We need different shapes of playeds for different roles, something that SOC is excellent at assessing.

Keep the faith. Even if we lose 3-0 at donny...my prediction, after seeing a massive improvement to game patterns during January, is that we have a 0% chance of finishing lower than 16th. Return to form yann and the emergence of woody (quality er..really surprised me..must have one of highest average match ratings in the squad. Keep the faith. We will never go 4-5 games without picking up a couple of points here and there Tis always the key in the championahip relegation battle..teams are relegated because they go on 0&5 streaks and i can see that happening to donny, yeovil, spanners and The Massive Eeejits.

Charlton manager Chris Powell hopes to emulate Millwall’s run to the FA Cup semi finals last season after seeing off Huddersfield.

The Addicks needed a goal from Simon Church to progress to the fifth round, two games away from a trip to Wembley.

While the allure of games against Arsenal and Manchester City can prove tempting, Powell was also hoping to progress to the quarter finals.

“It doesn’t matter who we get to be honest,” he said. “I’m sure our fans are dreaming of a big tie either home or away.

“I’m sure my board are as well with what it can bring but it’s the fifth round. I want us to progress.

“Millwall got to the semi finals last year. We saw Sunderland progress this week in the Capital One Cup.

“We’ll see what the draw brings us. It’ll be great if we get a draw that we deserve.”

Powell was delighted with his side keeping a clean sheet for the second successive game after beating Oxford 3-0 in their third round replay on Tuesday.

“I’m really pleased with us going through to the fifth round,” he added.

“It’s a competition I take seriously and we haven’t done too well in the cups in recent years.

“It’s good for us to progress with another clean sheet following on from Tuesday.”

Church ended a goal drought with a well taken goal, his first since scoring against Doncaster on November 26.

“It was a well worked goal,” Powell claimed. “It was terrific approach play from Laurie Wilson.

“We rode our luck at times. Ben Alnwick made a really good save in the first half and we kept chipping away and eventually got our rewards.

“It was about showing a bit of character and patience and the boys done well at the end.”

There was a minor negative from the win after Cedric Evina was forced off after 35 minutes and was replaced by Harry Lennon and Powell was delighted with how the youngster acquitted himself.

“He had a dead leg after an eventful first 20 minutes,” he said.

“I had to bring the young lad on in the end. I thought he acquitted himself really well. Hopefully people like Ceddy will be available on Tuesday.”

Great result. 4 days ago we were still in the 3rd round, now we're in the 5th. It'll be nice to watch the draw knowing we can't get Huddersfield or Oxford. Torn between wanting a winnable home tie or a big trip to the likes of City or Arsenal. No sides from outside the top 2 divisions are through yet so the chances of a decent tie are good.

Just got back home, well pleased. Really did not expect that result. Lennon looked assured on the ball and a lot of their threats down our left side stopped after Lennon replaced Evina. Evina looked lost during the time he was on. Church was non existent during the first half but improved greatly in the second half and took his goal well as did the whole team with the exception of Sordell. Alnwick made a super save in the first half to keep us in it so all in all a great day.

Don't want a home game on our allotment of a pitch. Southern Prem side please.

Humble pie. Didn't think that line-up was strong enough to get us through.
Great result, well done to players and management alike.
Can't wait for the 5th round draw.

Mixed emotions. Great to get a good win and buzzing for the draw tomorrow but... Booked a holiday across quarter final weekend last week and now getting a bit nervous...!

The fourth round was played on 25th Jan in 1947 too.....We won away that day too......Manchester city scored three and Liverpool scored two that day.....

What I'm saying is that victory is almost inevitable.

And my missus reckons I'm sad..... :-)

Maybe I should point out that I didn't happen to already know all that!

The surprise is we were the only London club involved in the 5th round.

I'm a bit concerned that the bookings of Morrison and Stephens could cost us dearly with suspension soon.

Anyone know how many cards they've each accumulated ?

We must be close to clean slate time? Or have I completely made that up?

Well done CP and the boys, really didn't expect that. Not sure if I want us to get a team like Arsenal or Man City next or a winnable but boring tie like Sheff W or Wigan

    Did not expect that!
A lot of positivity coming out of the club this week.
Another plus point is that we've beaten Huddersfield whilst they're in good form which should be a confidence booster.

Decided I'm gunna drive up to Donny game on Tuesday, ever since the Boro game I've had the bug back.

    Come on you redssssss

I believe clean slate time kicks in on 1st March.

At least it always used to.

At least you'll be able to watch it live on telly in a bar.

Unlike Doncaster Rovers v Charlton, for example.

According to Soccerbase Stephens and Morrison both received their 5th yellow cards today. My understanding is that the one match suspension for 5 yellows passed on 31st December. The next trigger date is the second Sunday in April when 10 yellows accumulated means a two match ban.
