Think I've missed something. Why is my comment the most stupidest yet?
I think he means me, Madz, for suggesting that if "experience in the Championship" was so important we should give Simon Church a 5 year contract. I was being flippant and paid the price with a stern rejoinder from the esteemed CbB. Ouch!
I was more or less backing your joke didn't see anything wrong in it to be honest

3 or 4 hot rumours in the past few weeks yet none yet "over the line". We have until the end of August but the sooner the better, if we want to maximise our chances of a strong start to the season. Would love an update from anyone truly ITK.
At least if we're looking at this Costa Rican chap we're looking at a level which will improve the squad. Dont mind if things take a little longer if we're aiming at the right level of player. I'm sure we could pick up some shite quickly if we needed bodies in.
Tracked in France by RC Lens and Montpellier, Andy Delort has reached an agreement with English club Charlton (English second division) for a 5-year contract. But the top scorer in Ligue 2 2013-2014 (24 goals) is still in Tours where he is for the time of weaning and forbidden to play ball. In negotiations, the Touraine leaders do not wish to hurt the attacker and derail a vital transfer for the club and estimated at 4 million. "If it hurts, who want and what do we do? I tell you, the club filed for bankruptcy soon ... "warns Jean-Marc Ettori, the number one Touraine. For the player, "the president takes a lot of money, it blocks me. The President thinks only of himself. "

Nothing new then…..
I beg to differ - first I have heard about them heading towards bankruptcy. We knew they had an embargo but that now makes it sound like the Manager is trying to force the Chairman's arm to keep the club afloat.
I am getting excited about this again now...I had given up on him yesterday
If he wants to go then he will go, its just whether he comes to us or not after all this. If Tours are playing hard ball for more money this won't happen. 4-5m euro's for someone who we don't really know anything about is a big risk for us IMO. He does look good and it could be a gamble we don't take and live to regret, but if it only doesn't happen because we are not willing to pay over the odds then so be it.
Sounds like the deal is at the same point it was last week. Tours want more money and we won't go any higher. Tours are obviously hoping someone comes in with a higher offer but that doesn't seem like it will happen.
I made that joke on this thread last week and got 12 lol's and 1 like. Let's see how you get on with it...
I gave it a LOL , but having thought about it ,given the amount of French players who both Charlton and Standard acquire then a French club would be the next logical extension of the network and if Tours is bankrupt then maybe it is a possibility.
Looks like the deal is off according to FL72 website and twitter feed ... Not able to agree fee
Expect all those websites and Twitter accounts are clearly copying each other.
I agree @ForeverAddickted, I don't think the original article is actually saying it's fallen through. Tours need the money but we're not desperate for a striker, just need one by the end of the window.
