Jose Riga (Reportedly Old Blackpool Manager)

Jose Riga to be new Blackpool Manager.

Who would've thought that he would end up getting another job before Powell in March?

  • If true says it all really
  • That really takes the biscuit
  • link?
  • Bookies have slashed his odds
  • This will be a good test case for RDs judgement then. Peeters/Riga at two of last seasons relegation candidates, both with about 6 or 7 senior players on their books and their best players leaving.

All the best Jose, sadly (for us) I think you'll finish higher than us next year and probably be in the job longer than big Bob. Just an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach that this will come back to bite us.
  • Good luck to him
  • He'll need it with that Owen Oyston character.
  • I was very upset he isn't going to be with us. However, there is no way he would even have been considered for Blackpool or any other Championship job had he not had the two month spell in charge of the Addicks , so in some ways it has turned out well for him.

  • Bit of a basket case of a club that I don't think has fallen as far as it will yet. I've never been at a stadium for the last match of the season where your club has just survived relegation where the fans were so seemingly despondent and the players not even bothering to come out after the game to applaud the fans. Mind you. The fans had mostly departed by then anyway. Good luck Jose.
  • He'd be a fool to take on that club.

more foolish than taking on us!
  • Bad decision for Jose in my opinion.
The Oyston's who own Blackpool are Basket cases.
Good luck to him , he's going to bloody well need it.
  • Good luck Jose but i think in 6 months you will regret taking the job, Blackpool has disaster written all over it at the moment.
  • What a shame that we have to hope the bloke fails and Blackpool fill one of the bottom three places. I wanted Jose to stay with us but now he's managing a direct competitor and I think Blackpool will be a bottom third club just like us. I can't say I want him to do well.
  • Blackpool are on a downward spiral with no investment. If anyone can save them it's Houdini II, Jose Riga.
  • So are Blackpool part of the Network now?

  • Changing red tie to an orange one.
  • i thought Hart was going to take it.

reading some of the comments on there seems a number would prefer Riga
one mentioned he must be good to win over the Charlton fans so quickly

Surely they have no chance of getting McDermott?
  • Blackpool away last game of the season again?

    Interesting times
  • would be interesting if we had that at home 1st game of the season.

    It would be impossible
  • Blimey, yesterday Paul Hart was in the frame, today Jose Riga, Just waiting for Bob Peeters to jump ship.

  • I should add, im not hoping he fails, it would just be a shame for him to lose the sudden reputation he has built in English football by snatching the first job offered to him.

Well, he's got history for walking out on clubs...
