  • Tucudean is skilful but neither brave nor aggressive enough for the Championship

You could say the same about Forresteri of Watford
  • If you play 20 odd games then bu default you are going to get 1 or 2 where you look OK if you're a professional player.

We want to do better than last year, and we want to challenge for the playoffs. Sorry but we will not do that with players like George around the team.
  • It's a fourth striker we're talking about, someone who will hopefully spend most of his time on the bench. I really can't see us signing another striker based on that. We have George, Reza, Polish Pete, KAG and Pigott on the books (in theory). I think the fourth striker will be a combination of the latter two in that list.
  • George. Not good enough for us imo
  • No thanks

Ahearne-Grant has potential, but the other four I doubt very much will put on a Charlton shirt again.

  • in front of the covered end, all he had to do was take one more touch to go around Forde and we would have won

Yeah the entire result was the fault of George Tucudean.
  • Id rather see Pigott given a chance than have George back

    Or Grant.

    Or re-signing Lisbie and/or Mooney.
  • Where is Reza? Thought he would be due back. At least he should have a sale value, in excess of George's?

Interesting that people would rather give a chance to a player who had the worst game in a Charlton shirt I've ever seen, than a player who was technically good (brilliant at times) but needed to make a few adaptions to his physical game.

Maybe Tucudean should rename himself Davies or Smith in order to win favour with the fans.
Millwall at home? A game in which he should never of been thrown in,in the first place, and a game in which all 11 other players on the pitch also didnt turn up.Slightly unfair to single him out for one game, especially as George played 20+ and only made an impression in what 4?

We played 4-5-1 against Millwall, we started actually attacking when George came on.

Bob Peeters set us up to not lose. Never to win. Millwall were absolutely terrible that day and there for the taking.

Why? It's quite clear he is nowhere near good enough for the championship.

When has it been proven to be clear?

He has played in 12 Championship games, hasn't scored a single goal and I can't recall him doing anything of note. And before Athletico Charlton comes along and has a moan at me, I'm just stating the facts rather than trying to slag him off for the sake of it.

He has a scoring rate of 10 in 31 for his games in League Two, which I suspect is more his level. Keep in mind he is also going to be 22 later this year. If he is going to make it at Championship level then he would have to be quite a late bloomer, but I don't think we can really count on him as even a fourth striker. Shame, but we've only ever heard good things about his training rather than seen them with our own eyes when it comes to matchdays.

Wolves at home he had a nightmare.

He had three glorious chances in the first half, one chance square on goal from about twelve yards out and he missed kicking the bloody ball!

We are talking about Pigott not George Elfsborg
  • Worst performance? Oh my. Where were you for Amdy Faye?

Piggot has talent. I see no harm in loaning him out to a league one team. If he wants to leave then let him go. But I'm not judging him when he plays in a woeful team performance.
  • Thing about Piggott is that he is getting older. Igor is less than 2 years older than him. Pigg needs to find a club and settle down, and stop being Charlton's future saviour.

I think he should go back to Southend.

Will they want him now they have signed Mooney?

They've just signed Mooney? They will definitely need another striker then ...

Not going to moan at you as a) I am sober and b) you have given a fair, thoughtful and factual response.

I still think he will be a decent player. From the snippets I have seen he has very good technique and a decent shot. What he lacks is pace and strength and it is a worry that at 22 he has not developed the latter and this could, ultimately, stop him reaching his full potential sadly. I would rather see him loaned for the season but I think he only has a year left on his contract so that doesn't really work.

George Elfsborg plays for Scunthorpe, and scored 20 goals last season.
