Kebabs

What is your favourite kebab and kebab house?

I've just had an iskender kebab from Aida in sittingbourne, it was delicious, I don't think I'll ever go back to any other kebab. In Erith I used town kebab but nothing like this.

    yes...because that...would be crazy
  • Kebabs are a slightly bad habit of mine I cant get enough.

Probably because I live in Eltham...practically kebab headquaters.
  • Been vegetarian for eighteen years and the only meat I still crave is fecking kebab meat. What's that all about?!?
  • Lale in eltham.
  • Havet in Bromley is good.
    Turkish Kitchen in Catford too.

Dinner time, better to eat at 5.30 than 9.30 even if it is bad bad junk food! ;-)
No iskender kebab, has doner meat in it though.

  • The antalya in blackfen used to be good, not been there for some time though. Use the albany grill if I ever have one now.
  • Rainbow in Gravesend.... Had large doner last night plus lettuce, onions and chili sauce delivered.. Was absolutely lovely.... First one for ages and tasted so good
  • Ephesus down Rose Lane or The Olive Tree, Prince of Wales Road for me.
  • Went Berlin recently... Out of this world...
  • Albany Grill at Albany Park Station. Good Hygiene rating is good as well.
  • Only thing I miss about living in north London is the kebabs - proper meat, nicely cooked, authentic bread rather than pittas out of a packet, genuinely nice meals that don't require 10 pints in advance to make them speaking.

Turkish Kitchen in Catford, Levante and Bucketmouth in Lewisham are the best I know round here. Bucketmouth needs to change its name, put me off going in there for ages, can't be the only one.
  • Tas Firin on Bethnal Green Road - top ocakbasi restaurant!
  • Uskudar in Chislehurst. My word...keep all the pitta and salad separately. So you don't have soggy pitta...unbelievable Jeff

You can see their new signage from Greenwich !

  • Atillas in Blackfen is still the best. Kebab Ye gets too busy and quality suffers.

    So I am told.

Ha. No way. Next to chislehurst station
  • Never knew it existed? On the parade of shops down the bottom or has that fish restaurant next door changed hands again?
  • Nope, Denny's still there.

It's literally next door to cab office.

Have a try, worth a punt!
  • Damascus Bite, Shoreditch High St. Large mixed Shawarma. Unbeatable.
  • It's all about a large doner
  • Hayes Kebab, by a long way
  • Went Berlin recently... Out of this world...

This, this and this. Different, but delicious.

  • Kebabies in Pickford Lane is okay, as is the Charcoal Grill in Bexley village.
