When it comes to Kebab's I think generally they are better north of the river. The only one I like around this way is Levante in Lewis Grove Lewisham. Luckily my other half is from North London, safe to say I know my kebabs, I would say Terry's in Hornsey is a decent take away. Or if you fancy a nice restaurant Kosk in Borehamwood I would highly recommend.
Have never had one, or even felt the urge for one. American pal of mine though can, when drunk, be controlled by simply moving a dirty kebab from side to side in front of him! His fave was abrakebabra on a Dublin trip.
Sounds weird but the kebab, chicken or lamb shish by choice is all about the salad, therefore with my locals has to go kebab he. Antalyas chicken was.nice but the salad was.shocking. Depends who you get to do your order in kebab Ye, if my fella don't answer I put phone down,.
Only came back from Turkey yesterday looking forward to shish kebab from Tasty Grill Lee High Road. Have used it for over 20 years but I still think the best is Maroush Beauchamp Place.
OK, pretension alert. The best kebab I ever had was a wraparound doner with crisp salad and sourcream and chili in Poble Sec/Montjuic, Barcelona. Worth the flight.
The worst one I can remember was on the front at Southend, next to Mr D's nightclub. Never stopped me having one at 2 in the morning every time we used to go there in the mid 80's (Which was at least once a month)
I like to put burger cheese inside the pita then add the meat so it melts and sticks together. I haven't had a decent greasy kebab for 5yrs and this thread is making me soo hungry now
FS2 in Honor Oak. Make all their own chilli sauce and pittas are made fresh for each kebab. Can't do with any others after that, although I'd give another shout to Turkish kitchen in catford.
Always loved a kebab but not happy with them being put in those polystyrene trays rather than wrapped in paper like the old days. The pitta ends up a soggy mess.

Agree 100% tastes so much better out the paper, the local chippy sticks them in that polystyrene crap too.
Love the Kebabish shops in east London. Freshly baked nann bread in the tandoori oven, meats marinated in spicy sauce. My god it's lovely.
Also got to give a shout to Bucharest. Over there they do a wrap, it's about a foot long and inside has all your meat, salad, sauce and also fries. Ridiculously good.
