  • On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being inappropriate and 10 being sex pest, what do we think of people who order kebabs but ask for the pitta bread separate so it doesn’t get any of the meat juice on it, 11 for me.
    WHO AND WHY!?!?!?

    Guilty as charged.

Does that make me an official nonce? 😄

We’ve got a new one open a few months ago in Parkside parade North End Rd , Eirth that I would recommend it’s called Kerb Side.

Kebab Side. That's by me too. Its decent. Does a lovely bread, nice halloumi but the chilli sauce let's it down massively. More like a tomato relish.

Remember the one in Welling near where you used to live, we got back from the Leeds play off final about 3am, they conjured some Doners from a slither of well, something, on the pole, very welcome if not quite Michelin starred. The four of us scoffed them while watching the highlights on the video, happy days.

I know it's sacrilege for Saturday cos you'll obviously be on the Wigan Kebabs - but one of the best kebab shops I've ever been to is a couple of miles up the road from the JJB in Hindley Green - called 'Kebab King'. Absolute god tier filth - walked home from Wigan loads of times pissed out my shwede and mullered a large doner from there.

One of the greatest crimes of our time is the degradation of kebab House chilli sauce into some salsa/drizzle/relish. Bring back the days when they would all use the god tier chefs larder hot chilli sauce and sort the men from the mice. I have no idea why this happened but kebabs are worse for it

I have this argument with my missus all the time. That wet tomatoey relish shit is a joke. There’s a place called Pepe’s in welling that sells extra hot sauce and it’s deep red with seeds in it, proper chilli sauce that makes your ring piece sweat as you purchase it.

I guarantee thats the chefs larder hot chilli ring stinger. Pretty much just tomatoes and chilli seeds and a splash of vinegar. Always have a litre bottle in the fridge. And you are so right. It feels like a hot poker being jammed up your night fighter the following day

I don’t eat kebabs that often nowadays, but I noticed a few years back that the chilli sauce just wasn’t the same, back in the day it was like less viscous vindaloo, lovely. Some of the above posts confirm my suspicions, it’s an outrage!

Is the Britannia Grill still trading on Dartford Road opposite the Ship pub still trading?
And if so is it still just as good as 5-6 years ago
Life took me away from the best kofte kebabs but I may be passing by in the near future and will be making meal plans
Certainly is. Easily the best kebab shop in the area by some distance. Haven’t given into the Deliveroo / Just Eat mobs either, don’t need to, always busy.
Diamond Grill is pretty good...Spital Street.

    You monster.
  • The knowledge of Kebabs and outlets on this board is astonishing - dare I say - even more than trains and rolling stock.

Resisting the urge to label you a massive boofty, its all subjective. The garlic sauce when done well is nice but too much garlic for me personally to have on a kebab. Chilli sauce gives it another dimension entirely and also ensures nobody tries to steal as its really facking hot. I tend to go without the chilli sauce or sauce full stop now from the shops as it is often disappointing

I always ask for a pot of chilli sauce, that way I have a choice of dipping in or pouring where I want. Agree that the sauce must pack a punch or else it’s a bit pointless.

Used many different kebab shops in the borough as different aspects can change over time, including the chips. Used to use Crayford Kebab until I had a dodgy, very greasy one, Kebabies along Pickford Road usually good and they do red cabbage. Barnehurst has upped its game recently and the portion sizes are ridiculously large.

My lad really rates Topkapi along Brampton Road.

Barnehurst is my local one but thats more a case of coming out the red barn after a few bevvies and needing a hole to fill. Ooo missus.

Topkapi is the gaff to go to. Any kebab shop that does rice, halloumi etc beats your barnehursts imo.

I won’t ask your thoughts on a generous spread of creme fraiche…

Yeah Barnehurst is nice, but once again let down by the weak chilli sauce.

Definitely. Rarely have the elephant leg though.
  • It seems I have not had a full proper kebab experience. I have only had it a few times in my life whilst drunk and I order the average late night Doner kebab from a rotisserie which has been sitting out for hours and the meat is dried up along with greasy chips not realising there is a world of kebab options I'm missing out on.
  • I presume most kebabs are halal?
