I absolutely hate the service I get on the sidcup line and spend fortunes a year on a season ticket. However last night going home I watched on in horror as a young lad was given cpr on the opposite platform.

Coming in on the sh1t service this morning it really put things into perspective.

    So sad.

  • you should see the A2 most mornings far worse for us drivers

I don't know why I read this sort of thing. I know it's going to upset me and it does! Poor little guy and his parents. :(

  • there was a gang of them at erith station the other day, which is already slow to get out of as it is, but they are on you like a beard of leeches. And if you have not got your ticket ready they become a pack of wolves and very hostile, the guy in front of me who got off the train right by the exit was literally pulling his oyster out and they were very rude and aggressive, i had mine in hand, but the guy was a rather old fella, give him a chance.

Southeastern are the biggest criminal gang in South London!

They were at Barnehurst the other day so i bought a return ticket in the morning, when i got off in the evening i casually walked down the platform pretending i was on the phone, so they thought i was a bunker. About 3 of them came up trying to talk to me, kept telling them 'shhh' as i was on the phone. Eventually i got off the fake phone call and presented my ticket, you could see the absolute gutted disappointment on their faces. I absolutely despise every member of Southeastern staff ive encountered, from the twats at Charing Cross that tut when they need to open the barriers for prams to the little wanky nazis that stand out in the rain checking peoples tickets. Scrotums the lot of them.
Genius. I'll have a go at that. Think they've been doing the rounds at stations without barriers recently, seen them at Hither Green and St Johns in the last couple of weeks. Like Twiggy says, all far too keen to play the hard man.

was outed by another commuter to a Sunday Paper, lost his job, was 'struck' off by the FCA as unfit to work in the financial sector. What a greedy arsehole. He was on only 600k a year at the time too. Wonder if his Jobseeker's Allowance is keeoing him in the matter to which he was accustomed.

Yeah I remember reading about it in the Evening Standard a few months ago. 100% good news story when I read it. I usually hate the Standard for its stories about how the cost of living is beyond everyone in the capital/house prices are disgusting etc. But then they have a centre page spread on a new development by the Candy Brothers that is exclusive to people in the super rich. What's the bloody point. If you think that the wealth divide in this London is so bad, don't go glorifying it with a story about the new 'cool' residents of Primrose Hill.

Anyway I digress. I think the only consolation to that guy is his name not going public. I'm sure his close neighbours and village must know though
  • Look at this little Xmas present. I bet they've cancelled all trains on these dates so people can't get home and see their families.....merry Christmas and a happy new year suckers, from your good friends at South Eastern. We'll be back in the new year with higher prices, fewer trains, more train faults and are working closely with Network Rail to ensure hourly signal failure.....

  • stranded? really? I'm sure it says 5pm train to Dartford - there would have been plenty of trains back up the line to Sidcup before the end of service at around 11pm no?

The newsshopper loves a sensational headline!!

Be fair Suzi. Dartford is a very dangerous place at that time of night! ;o)

That almost sounds like you're trying to defend South Eastern. We take a very dim view of that on this thread, just so you know in future.

Anyway, let's say that those passengers got home half an hour late rather than being stranded. Why should they get home late at all? For the money South Eastern are charging, they should be getting home 10 minutes early having enjoyed complimentary champagne and a free hand shandy.

Wasn't meant to be. They've messed up my journeys massively over the past few weeks but just not long enough to claim. Anyway, new years resolution was to not complain/moan about trains/tubes on social networking sites which I've managed to stick to (this doesn't count!)

Ok, I will forgive you, just this once. Don't think much of your choice of New Years' Resolution though. I resolved to eat more cheese in 2014, it's gone really well for me so far.

Absolutely nothing according to the Southeastern website but what the hell do they know?

Someone sneezed. South Eastern deemed it necessary to shut up service for the rest of the weekend.
  • According to the radio, services via Greenwich are currently suspended between Charlton and London Bridge. Good luck people...

Literally cancelled everything leaving Westcombe Park. They really are a bunch of tossers.
  • Oh, but it's ok because your overpriced tickets are valid on the already overcrowded DLR and local bus services.

    Thank goodness for that eh?

I need to get into Charing X. There's no other way to do that than get a tube. I bet I have to pay though and TFL will just stand there obstinate. What's the point of offering up free travel on DLR or buses when the majority of people on that line need London a Bdg or Charing X. I just keep firing off angry tweets. Even if I knw it's not getting me anywhere, I like them to feel the anger

Everything cancelled from Charlton too. The lack of tannoy announcements doesn't help the situation. Platform was still packed when I passed with peopke obviously hoping for a train to arrive soon. No chance.
  • It would be a bit better if they communicated better with passengers customers. Nothing at the stations, no tannoy announcements and when you get on an overpriced sardine can this morning nothing from the driver either about why we were just stuck not moving between stations. And that was the Sidcup line not the Greenwich line that had the problem.
  • On the bright side, it Makes being off work sick today slightly easier to bear.

I must be getting old as I'm going through the sky listings to see if there's any old war films on.

15 years ago I'd have been 3 in by now.
  • I remember when Southeastern ran actual trains on my line...

These days there's a 15 minute hole in the middle of the morning peak. Between 7.39 and 7.54 there are literally no trains on the Bexleyheath line at the moment. In fact, this morning, there were no trains from 7.34 as they cancelled the '39. Happy days!
