So no Fanni or Sanogo. Glad we got those two over the line at the last second eh. Phew.
Of all our injury worries Igor is the one that matters most. He hasn't had a run of games in so long he might take this league by surprise again, which could really help us nick a few wins on the run. We need to do that if we're going to stay up
Igor the 50/50 man. Motta and Suk-Young need game time no shit sherlock. Riga obviously doesnt like Fanni either and Sanogo another player with no match fitness gets game time and is injured straight away. Some old shit different manager same twats running the club. Its so boring and predicatable, and they wonder why were pissed off as fans customers,
Other teams sign loanees and they are straight in the team e.g Watt & Graham at Blackburn, Burke at Rotherham, Tomlin at Bristol City, Ramirez at Boro, Forster-Caskey at MK Dons, etc etc. We sign 4 players on loan and none are fit to play, plus Poyet who is largely overlooked. We have no cohesive policy on bringing in players, permanent or loan, and that is a large part of our problem. Shambles.

I think we do have a cohesive policy. It is that "someone" signs any old shit player who is available, and Riga says "Nah" and doesn't play them!

It's 2 games in a week - Saturday and Tuesday. Then one game next week on Saturday and so on.

To be fair, Forster-Caskey was at MK Dons earlier in the year, then went back to Brighton (can't remember if loan ended or if he was injured), and has since gone back.
I really rate him, and he's the type of young player that, if we had a proper scouting network and Director of Football, I'd like to see us get in on loan at the start of a season, with potentially a clause to buy. He is technically very good, has good vision, and a sweet left foot. A midfield three of him, Cousins, and Poyet, although all are barely past 20, sounds like a decent team to me, and JFC and Cousins played at England youth level together.
Diarra and Bauer both training, hopefully Diarra back in a couple of weeks (seems familiar statement), Bauer a little longer. Fanni and Young getting fitter
We were excellent on the break vs Rotherham and showed signs of it in the last 10 mins on Saturday. I actually think we're better setup right now to play away from home and may find we pick up more points away from SE7. Need to start on Saturday.

Not letting Riga off this one. He knows the club set up and chose to come back. He either signs the players and gets the blame if they are not fit/rubbish or is a spineless network lacky who let's other people sign players for him then gets a strop on and doesn't pick them.
As for 'building foundations' that quote sums us up I am afraid. Must be the only club who start to build foundations in the middle of Feb when 7 points from safety.

It may be that the support away is better than at home as well. Not necessarily louder but more positive and nobody sitting on their hands until they are allowed to hold up their bit of A4.

Let's see on Saturday.
Better support maybe/maybe not, but certainly a less pressurised atmosphere. Two away games on the trot, do well in them and they might come back the valley with a bit more confidence.
We very much can still get out of this if we can get a bit of momentum going, just need to start soon.

I truly believe Riga is a decent coach and has a very good man management style. However I do not believe our team/squad is good enough to stay up, despite the additions. I've missed the last 2 home games so my last game was Blackburn. I can't speak for or comment on how we've looked since Blackburn, I just can't help but see the negative.
It might be a shit view to take and many of you may still be ploughing your support into the team and I respect that, but the Col U and Hull games still leave a bitter taste for me. Pointless I know but I can't help it.
If I take Jackson being out, at the risk of the wrath of the majority, it's a good thing (now). Us playing a mid 4 exposes the worst side of his game. And unfortunately, I think bar the goals against Fulham, Brum and Sheff Wed, he's been sorely lacking. Yes I know you can say but the goals are all important, I know they are, but I just don't think we can afford for him to be in the team at the moment.
I was massively pleased when he came back after Fulham, I was more than prepared to eat humble pie etc, but we've gone back in circles I think re his contribution. Yes he'll more than likely crop up and score again soon, it's what he does, but even the leader on the pitch has started to evaporate. This was the captain who presided over the shocking run from Dec onwards. He was in the team week in week out.
I just think it's a good thing he's having a little break.
I think we're to blame for Igor again. Clearly we've rushed him back if he's injured already (I know it's not the same injury but). So we now have new imports who lack match fitness and have to be eased in, and then have 15 games or whatever it is to learn to play as a team for the run in.
Again I'm being very negative I know. I've just got no love or positivity for this club at the moment, and I'm afraid to say that extends to the team.
I've been told Mak has improved in the last few games, yet I can't get past the flailing, slow, weak forward we saw under KF.
I hope soon I can get back behind them, I'm just really worn down by our owners and how badly wrong they've got it. It's like they're chipping away at my soul

Have you heard something regarding Diego's future plans, SD ? Are we likely to be in for him at the end of this season ?
I'm somewhat underwhelmed with the lack of fitness of our incoming ...Really expected more from Jose's wish list, if it was his to start with.
All we can hope is that when we have more bodies available and less on the treatment table, we're still in with a shout of edging away from the relegation zone.
I do have some faith in Jose and by all accounts, he seems once again to have the players on side. He's by far the most able manager of the Belgian contingent , but I fear he's being forced to play several sub standard lads due to the injury situation AGAIN.
If he had all the squad players fit & raring to go at this stage, then I'd be confident in his ability to choose a strong, settled team to do us proud.
We'll be there on Saturday and at PNE on Tuesday evening to cheer on the lads, with fingers & legs crossed too.

Very perceptive. That is probably why we have done so well away from home this season... How many wins is it now?

Onwards & upwards....hopefully.
Know nothing on Diego but I highly doubt West Ham are looking to sell, and if they are I can't imagine he'd want to come back permanently.
So jealous you'll be at the two away matches.
I'll say this, I don't think Riga will start players unless he thinks they are both physically and tactically prepared. Going on various comments made by players both last time he was here and this year, I think that he gives very specific tactical instructions for players to follow, and I think he wants players understanding the system before they're given a runout.
It seems some read Motta and Young as being out because they lack match sharpness, I don't read it that way, and I could see both being in the team for two of the three matches this week.
I also agree that right now is a good time for us to be playing teams lower in the table away from home. We look good on the counter, but as we saw with Bristol City, when we're at home it's easy for sides to sit very deep, and I don't think we have the players, at least not fit ones (Igor and Lookie at full fitness could help this) to break down teams who defended physically and defend deep.

I really don't want them taking anymore risks with Igor. Next time he comes back in the team he needs to stay in. Another five or six games out could see us dead and buried. Cannot understand why Harriott hasn't been mentioned, he looked as fit as a fiddle v Forest and was a constant threat, with confidence sky high after doing so well at Colchester. I hope being frozen out hasn't ruined all that momentum he returned with. Where is Ahmed Kashi?

Kashi was absolutely quality, and I'm prepared to throw it out there that had he remained fit then we wouldn't be in this mess. His role in those first two games was pivotal to our game play, his tackling was superb and he could mop up a lot of threats before they hit our back four and then distribute the ball out wide for counter attacks. (Although, Bauer in the back four also gave us some additional confidence)
As for Harriott, I think I heard someone say he was having a fitness test on the pitch before Cardiff? I didn't see it myself, but that could be a worthy explanation as he looked good against Forest and he looked like he had a good relationship with Riga during the last spell together. I feel gutted for him actually - he came back from a successful loan where he was well received by the fans, played an absolute blinder and seemed to thrive on his newfound confidence... and he's vanished.
