The lucky 15 is a 4 selection wager consisting of 15 bets: 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and a four-fold accumulator.
The '15' part of its name comes from its 15 constituent bets and the 'lucky' part comes from the fact it is often the target of bookmaker bonuses, the most common of which are an all winner bonus, a one loser bonus and an one winner consolation bonus. Bonuses typically take the form of a % increase in returns or increased odds in the case of the one winner consolation. Check with each bookmaker to find the most up-to-date information, also worth noting is that bonuses are rarely if ever paid on each-way parts of the bet. The bonus aspect of this wager makes it a popular choice for punters considering multiple selections. Each of the 4 selections has the same effect on returns, meaning the order in which bets are written on the slip is not important.
Winnings for the lucky 15 can be worked out by hand but most people prefer to use a tool like the lucky 15 bet calculator. To get a feel for how different outcomes affect the payout try entering different odds and changing the stake.
Choosing one or more winners will guarantee a return from this bet.

Very impressive!
Working out returns can be done easily using a basic calculator and using the 'Additional Point' method.
Example:
£2 lucky 15 - four winners at 2/1, 3/1, 5/2 and 7/4
Firstly convert to decimal odds - 3.0, 4.0, 3.5, 2.75 then add one to each of these, multiply them together and then subtract 1 and then multiply by the stake: So in this example
4.0 x 5.0 x 4.5 x 3.75 - 1 x 2 (stake) = £673 - if there's a 10% bonus on an all correct then just multiply this answer by 1.1
This works for all full cover bets (singles included) Patent, L15, L31, L63 etc
It also works for full cover bets without singles, Trixie, Yankee, Super Yankee, Heinz etc... but after the minus 1 you also have to minus the singles - so a yankee with the same four winners would be:
4.0 x 5.0 x 4.5 x 3.75 -1 - 3.0 - 4.0 - 3.5 - 2.75 x 2 (stake) = £646.50
Just taken my seat at the centaur at the course to study the races today and hope I can pick a winner or two. Obviously the Mullins/walsh runners look the ones to beat in the early races but looking for some value.
Don't get the love for Lami Serge...................this years Irving. Given the fact that so many of you have gone for the Hendo horse, I hope it wins as my smallish dabble on Douvan is far less to be sacrificed to the Bookies. But I really don't get it. (NB waiting for the told you so's in an hour.)
I was at Ascot this year when L'ami Serge won and at Ascot last year when Irving won, L'ami Serge looked streets ahead of Irving, I was very impressed.
