I found it no better or worse than the previous series. It will take time for the presenters to "bed-in". If the show can survive, I imagine the format will change over a season or two. If they had made dramatic changes from the start, everyone would have been up in arms about it, so I think they'll ease them in and hopefully make a fresher looking show.
As for Evans, I used to quite like him 20 years ago, but find him quite irritating now, as he desperately tries to "roll back the years" and what's with the (obvious) dying of the hair? Most gingers welcome turning grey.
Every time Le Blanc opens his mouth, I find myself waiting for him to say "how are you doing?", Joey style...........
Better than the first episode, but it couldn't really have got much worse.
The sofa chat was way too long.
Chris Evans still annoying.
Agree about the sofa chat. I think the studio stuff was poor but the SA trip bits I enjoyed a lot.
I thought the SA trip was quite enjoyable, because it was beautifully filmed in true Top Gear style and it was a contrast in presenting style to the previous trio, it was a shade gentler, and good natured. The studio stuff felt stilted and rehearsed, which the previous trio were extremely adept at masking to make the banter to appear more spontaneous. Tbh I think Chris Evans and co are stuck with something of a poison chalice at the moment. Top Gear was beginning to feel like it had run its course under the previous presenters, I felt, so it is probably doubly difficult to present as fresh as well as "traditional". Personally, I think Evans would be well advised to take more of a production role, with just the occasional presenting appearance. I doubt he will do that though, somehow.
Also his co-presenters are not like the camera man, producer, researcher buddy types he likes to partner up with historically. He needs to get a grip with having conversations with people he doesn't boss around.

Hope he has a good therapist.
Well that is surely a good thing. His hair is now more in keeping with the rest of him!
Didn't hate the first show and thought this weeks was better again. The on location stuff was good, but the in studio stuff is letting it down. That is mainly because that is when Chris Evans takes centre stage (I have never understood what people like about him or how he has repeatedly got such big gigs) but it's not helped by the fact Le Blanc is clearly less at home with that stuff. I'm sure Le Blanc will loosen up with time but I'm not sure what can be done to make Evans less irritating.
The much lauded 'chemistry' of the old trio took time to develop and was. mainly, just a series on repetitive in jokes (Captain Slow always gets lost, Hammond has ridiculously white teeth and silly hair, Clarkson is a loud mouthed ape) but those in-jokes took time to bed in - they weren't there is earlier series but people watched because the format was fresh. This series suffers because the format is tired and it has new hosts no-one has learnt to love yet, but it does feel like a lot of people decided they hated this new look long before the first episode aired.
I got halfway through the second episode and was so bored I deleted it and scrapped my series link. They should have revamped the show instead of imitating it.
Did exactly the same off the sky planner and probably won't watch it again until Evans has at least gone.
Was much much better last night. Probably because there was less of Chris Evans. Thought the two new presenters Chris and Rory were good too.
Was also helped the fact Kevin Hart livened up the guest section, he is one funny guy.
Really!? I think Kevin Hart is one of unfunniest people to ever be called a professional comedian. Maybe I don't get the joke, but to me he's painfully unfunny.

Guess everything is relative. When next to Chris Evans, he come accross very funny. Maybe it says more about Evans than Hart.
Was at Dunsfold last week for filming, have to say Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc both very amiable guys, joking with audience members. What that film last night didn't show was that they did 22 continuos laps in the RS8 with Sabine in control, no wonder he puked!
Much more coming from Chris Harris and Rory Reid in next couple of weeks. Including a great film on the new Jag.
Ok show isn't the same without C,H & M but I like the new show, it'll take time to bed in but I think that they have got the mix right (just). Loved the tour of London last night and good to see it being filmed in Woolwich.
So after deleting it from my planner, I actually enjoyed last nights show apart from the Joshua/Hart bit.
Thought the two new presenters came across well and would like to see more of them and more cars being driven like that rather than trying to make everything funny. Evans being much less shouty also helped, Sabine also very good.
Wife this morning "I thought you said it was shit?". Me "yes but a bloke on Charlton Life said its worth another go". Wife rolls eyes at how much CL influences my general life
Find it becoming so American . American 'humour',aside from The Simpsons , i just dont find funny. I'll be 'switching' to Clarkson,May etc when they come on.

Le Blanc is mildly entertaining in the other bits, as such i'll give it another go.
3 strikes and it'll be gone.

Shouting and/or making your accent more stereotypically black isn't funny. Lenny Henry and Gina Yashere taught us that a while back.

No big challenge either last night, more car focused but very entertaining and I'm getting won over now I think.

That voice!
Maybe he will go back to TFI Friday now
