The Oz one is absolutely mental, feels like they trap them in that warehouse for about 3 months

Oz is the best of the MasterChefs but it can drag on a bit. The multiple judging changes on that have all worked albeit the circumstances behind some of them were tragic with Jock passing away.
  • Friend of mines daughter was a runner on one of his shows a few years ago.
Said he was a right perv.

Fair play to Kirsty Wark. She witnessed wrongdoing and a serious lack of judgement from Wallace and had no hesitation in coming forward and airing them, just thirteen years later.
Some people take a while to realise the full significance of something someone said to them

    Typical spanner behaviour

  • You shouldn't kick a man when he is down but, well, sometimes they deserve it...

I remember reading that & thinking ‘wtaf’.
    Why would anyone marry that?
I feel dirty that the man comes into my home town to buy his fish.

Is that a euphemism i need to look up in incognito mode?

The BBC is a sterile corporation. It's a tragedy that we're forced to pay the licence fee.

I've worked with Gregg and yes he's a twat and bit of a dinosaur. However, he's got character and is generally harmless.

Kirsty Wark from Newsnight says, "there were two occasions in particular where he used sexualised language" and" I think people were uncomfortable".

If you're going to make the statement, tell the full story. What did he say and who felt uncomfortable. Let people decide for themselves.

Kirsty Wark is married to someone who is rather snide and a bit of a clown, so dealing with Gregg Wallace should be a breeze.

And did she call him out on it at the time?

She gives the impression of being quite forthright and able to hold her own and I might have imagined the story to be along the lines of ‘I told him that was poor and he then shut up’. But I guess we were not there.

Calling people out at the time (if you can ) I assume is the best way to stop inappropriate behaviour and make them see sense and change.

  • My besties husband was on MC a few years ago & when I asked him what it was like his immediate reaction was to tell me Greg was an absolute tw@t. He had a pair of trainers on that were limited edition, something to do with The Who & Greg said, ‘there nice trainers’ to which my mates hubby replied, ‘thanks, they’re blah blah blah’. Wallace immediately got them to stop filming & then when it started again, Greg kicks off with, ‘they’re nice trainers……are they limited edition blah blah blah?’
Apparently the whole thing is pretty fake, lots of cold food eaten etc etc.
I still watch the Professional one though 🤣🤣
To be fair that particularly is him doing the job properly I feel. I’m sure that sort of thing happens on many shows and is just trying to find an anecdote for better TV.

Not suggesting the other observations aren’t valid !

If this is real he deserves everything coming to him. They are not even funny
  • Only thing that has surprised me here that it’s taken so long for him to be called out.

There’s a big power imbalance in that scenario though

Yeah its not funny but they're pretty harmless. Bloke is a pleb who I can't stand. Was always pervy and I'm surprised he stayed in the job for so long.

  • Yes the bastion of decency. still got those tight fitting pants you used to wear on kids TV?

I agree it's harmless and I'm just offended out how bad they are, just a terrible bit of banter which won't even raise a chuckle

That’s what I’m saying.  I’d imagine KW as the senior / more able to control the situation.

But just my impression if I’d had to guess before this came out.
  • I watched an episode recently and a female contestant starting laughing at a comment he made because it sounded like an inuendo and he didnt even raise a smile. He must have known this was coming.
    Don't you start
With how things are now in this day and age I was just wondering how many lawsuits are you fighting against Dave?

Edit: before I get a summons I don't know Dave personally I just know he is someone who likes a innuendo every now and then. I am not suggesting he is in any trouble whatsoever. This is not a true representation of his character as I do not know him and I don't even know if he identifies as someone who even uses the pronoun he.  I would like to apologise for any upset this might of caused .

(Just might get away with that)
But the CL grammar police will have you for that!

  • Apologies if you’re having your dinner…

You’re forgetting she’s a guest on HIS show where HE (and producers) decide her treatment and fate. He could have easily made her experience utter hell

Anecdote? He blatantly tried to make himself more intelligent than he really is. He hadn’t a clue what the trainers were & made out he did.
    Complete bollix.

  • Rod Stewart taking the moral high ground 😂😂

I'd ask Shannon Matthew's mum for parenting and relationship advice before i asked Rod Stewart.

Maybe. But my prior assumption would have been the other way around.

As a proper well respected and long-standing BBC journalist who clearly is only on the programme as a bit of fun / as an aside and very comfortable with TV studios etc. I’d have seen her as in the stronger position and not the sort of person to put up with bad behaviour.

Just surprised to see her name in this context  amongst others. Not excusing (or accusing) anything.

But that’s  just TV isn’t it?

Editing to get the best lines / make the show look better etc? As I suggested that’s just the job I think.

We don’t  actually watch this stuff and believe the hosts on any shows aren’t fed lines to use etc.  Of course he didn’t know.
