Another reason not to "Bring your whole self to work".

Personally I've always thought he seemed like a bit of a twat. But given he's an ex-barrow boy from Peckham, isn't it just part of his "culture" to tell bawdy (shit) jokes?
  • Is anyone surprised by this? You know his ‘type’. He’s a greengrocer who has stolen a living as a supposed ‘fine dining’ expert for 17 years. Hate the bloke.

  • You shouldn't kick a man when he is down but, well, sometimes they deserve it...

I think he trended for two full days on Twitter after this article was published. You kind of knew his days were numbered after that. An unlikeable character.

If this is real he deserves everything coming to him. They are not even funny
Well, even the updated BBC news articles now specifically refers to the aunts vagina comment...
  • This reads like a thread on any celebrities fall from grace…..

David Attenborough rude to people on set for years….. I was always suspicious of his interest in animals mating.

Is this a spanner’s thing?  Being familiar with your aunt’s c@nt?
  • James Martin is favourite to take his place; however, my money is on Gary Lineker.

  • I'm not surprised - lived in Whitstable at the same time he did and used to hear various stories, none of which he came across well in.

What baffles me is this continued "open secret in the industry" stuff, same with Russell Brand.  If they are that bad, just employ someone who behaves better instead?!  Most of these people are contractors, technically, just don't renew the contract.  There's a ton of comedians, presenters, actors out there.

Masterchef would be absolutely fine without him too, it's not like the fornat only works because of Gregg Wallace.

I have no idea who Greg Wallace is.
I never watch the food programmes because meat and fish alienate me.
I wonder if there are others who avoid food shows for the same reasons.
Doubt it. Some of these food programmes do reciipes for people like you now.

I used to avoid them because they made me hungry.
    Now I just eat!

    Do they?
I would be interested if there was a series of exclusively vegetarian/vegan food programmes, but I suspect they are more likely to be mixed with meat and fish stuff rather than a stand alone series.

Photographed this lot at the Masterchef at Olympia a few years ago, Never met Wallace  in person, do not watch the show anymore.

Doubt there would be a market for it. Vegan and vegetarian dish’s and chefs are now a regularly thing on masterchef.

Honestly have felt like the main series of MasterChef has been in need of a freshen up in terms of judging for a while now. Still really enjoy the Professionals with Marcus Waring and Monica but the amateur one has felt a bit stale with the same judges for 20 years or however long it is.

Agree. Love the skills test on Professionals. The 'normal' show however feels very stale. They briefly attempted to tart it up a couple of years ago with the first round being cooked without Wallace and Torode roaming around but with the other contestants watching and occasionally muttering what felt like very forced conversation or shouting 'You got this!' or other such bollox.
They've very much tried to take a bit of the Aussie and US versions of Masterchef to refresh it but it doesn't work.  The Aussie version with Gary, George & Matt was bloody awesome (although that was a good few seasons ago now, George left under a cloud and his mates followed him out of the door!)
Aussie Masterchef is the best, great format. Loved George, Gary & Matt doesn’t feel quite the same without them
  • I'm laughing here, but am not entirely sure why!
