    About to grab the 160 box of Yorkshire tea bags when i noticed the 80 boxes were on sale.  Two of them were cheaper than the larger box.  Huh one to me I think.  The 20p saving gave me more pleasure than it should have.  A small win maybe, but I don't get many :| .

    I don't know about other supermarkets, but ASDA are bastards for doing that. Essentially ripping-off anyone who assumes that bulk buying is cheaper. It's one for my things I hate list. Well done for seeing through their little trick.

    FMCG pricing architecture and SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) planning will be the driver here, rather than an attempt to rip people off.

    It might not make a lot of sense, but there is likely to be planning behind it. What I would say about ASDA (and all other UK supermarkets) is that they are certainly not in the market of "ripping people off" - in fact its the opposite. If you are a supplier on the other hand...
