    Alex Hales deserves a chance. Lyth has been scoring for fun for Yorkshire. Maybe nerves are getting the better of him. He definitely isn't 'shit' though.

    a lot of players can do it at county level but don't have "it" for test cricket.

    Compton
    Root
    Carberry
    Robson
    Lyth

    We need some continuity here I'd stick with Lyth.. can't keep dropping a player after two or three bad matches.. players need to play without worrying about their place in the side!!

    I agree with continuity, if they appear to have the ability & character.

    Lyth appears to have neither at Test level & I'm far from convinced on Ballance.

    Bell dropped by Voges, diving at 1st slip. A difficult, one handed chance, but he got lucky.

    Would have took 1-1 after 2 tests (looking deadly likely). Could well have been 2 zip had Clarke not changed his beloved tails for the toss, but it's the fine margins.
