Ballance was batting as well as I've seen him bat. But, yet again, he has been found out by the full ball because he plays so far back in his crease.
I did say three months ago, when his average of 65 at that time was being thrown at me that he had technical issues and that I would be sure that NZ and the Aussies would see that too. This isn't just a trough in form as he scored a lot of his runs against poor bowling attacks.

Look what happens, when you bowl at the stumps !
Would like to say that hopefully we won't see Bell again after this Test but not sure who we would bring in?
30-4
Yesterday - 337-1
Today - 259-11
I rest my case ;-)
Poor batting by Lyth, Ballance & Bell. Root also played a poor shot, but Johnson, worked him over beforehand.
Starc, Hazlewood and Johnson have bowled with hostility and at the wicket & man.
We bowled 90% outside the off stump.
This is the difference, not the wicket.
