I know the whole thanks Colin, cheers Col, has been done to death, but... We can we change it from Colin, to Nige, in commeration of our stripey pals from SURREY?
A lot of comments on here smack of sour grapes and wilful self-delusion that do no more than shovel more oversized shoes and red noses on the clown bonfire. Two small SE London clubs - Selhurst Park is in SE25,a London postcode not a Surrey one - whose supporters have more in common than most on here are comfortable with.
Why do people flag this sort of post? It defeats the point of having flags for abuse when they are used like this.
I fear that we are making ourselves look stupid. From most of the posts on here you could be forgiven for thinking that we are a non-league side playing at Old Trafford.
Can someone enlighten to me as to why they call us the Clowns? Couldn't think of anything wittier?
Because its the best they could do Ross. Remember this is a club who have 'forced' a rivalry with Brighton, just so they can have a day at the seaside with their carers. All football clubs have an identity, which they (mostly) should be proud off, but The Nigels just dont have an identity, unless being 'grey' is an identity. Even though they are a league above us, I actually feel sorry for them, I really do.
Still don't know why we call them the nigels.
Imagine calling in someone to paint your living room or fix your radiator who had traveled from Croydon or Penge way. You would open the door to them and they would almost certainly say "Hi, I'm Nigel".
After a brief chat about Football, which he has seen on the TV whilst he is meant to be doing his job - he would start talking about Crystal Palace. Nailed on.
You should then call him a c**t and ask him to leave.
Roll up roll up!!! Surrey boys and girls!! Come and get your blue and red stripey shirts and look just like the clowns you watch every week. You too could be a clown!!!! All the fun of the circus down at Sellout Park!!! There will be eagles flying, dancing girls aplenty, music to clap your hands to, overpaid clowns in blue and red running around aimlessly to watch in awe, plenty of muppets dressed in black and chief clown himself with an extra large comedy nose Super Alan Pardoo!!!! Whats not to like? Everyone called Nigel gets a free comedy wig!!!!

Takes more than an SE postcode to be "South London", anyone actually from South London would know that...
I have to say the so called rivalry is bloody pathetic. One of my closest friends is a palace fan and I really don't get the hostility. I had Cafc season tickets at Selhurst and the drive was awful, but that wasn't the fault of palace fans. Some of the mouth frothing on this forum and the equivalent Palace site is plain embarrassing. And the Cafc idiots proudly posting pictures on Twitter of smashed up toilets and seats from our last visit to Selhurst want banning. Fools.
Don't know a single Palace fan myself. Happy with that. As I've said before, we are unfortunately perhaps, more closely aligned with them from the Toolbox. Even got one or two scattered around the family.
Palace never came on my horizon until that season in the late 60s when we were pipped for promotion and beat them in the FA cup at Selhurst in front of whopping great crowd. But back then there wasn't the sort of extreme dislike for Palace that the current generation embrace. I think the source of that dislike is undoubtedly the ground sharing, which is understandable but doth not a rivalry make to compare with Millwall. What good are bragging rights if you don't know a single Nigel?

There speaks a closet Nigel perhaps? Why propagate their non imaginative, clueless outsider attempt at abuse? Old Trafford has a Manchester postcode, says fk all about the provenance of their fanbase

We passed that point about 300 posts ago. All you have to do is call Palace 'cunts' and you'll feature on Best of.

We shared their ground when we didn't want to but we are alive. They have not much better gates than us in the premiership and their ground is rubbish in a rubbish area.
The big nosed twunt was in Little Italy last night trying to punch above his weight and failing thankfully A friend (spurs fan) saw him in there and asked about Bolasie and slipperry bollox said no chance of him going to Spurs

We are local Rivals. We hate them. if they don't hate us then that's down to them but we hate them and always will do. I get the brotherly love looking out for you best mate who is a Filthy Nigel. Don't worry mate. Leave Palace to us. Stay at home with the pipe and slippers. I know how many Palace fans hurt after we sent them down. About 1% of palace fans think we are not rivals and about 1% of Charlton fans think the same.
Sydenham Station 2007 was the fault of palace fans when innocent Charlton fans mainly parents with small children were attacked. A proper Bully movement....Palace are scum

Says someone from Eltham...
You think Selhurst Park is South London but Eltham isn't ?
You will never see more of an over analysing a rivalry then on this forum.
The truth is, on the surface, we are not a club that has many other clubs "hating" us, then in comparison to a club like West Ham etc. If a team gets drawn away at charlton in a cup, it probably does not set sparks alight with a big rush to get a ticket for the big derby. That's the assumption and partial truth.
We are hated by a lot of clubs in a sense but it's not the kind of hate and dislike that is within a usual rivalry. Hard to explain.
The truth is Palace and Millwall in particular do hate charlton, (actions speak louder then words) and also the garbage from shat_himself.
Saying we are a club that has no rivals and that they don't care about us is just a recycled way of them attempting to take the piss. Like we do to them.
Hello. Hello? Hello!!! We used their ground, thanks we didn't want to but thanks.
Happy days now, we have a much better ground than them, a much better academy than them, they aren't our rivals they are an accident waiting to happen.
Thanks for the ground share, sorry you are rubbish. Well done for being a league above us but that doesn't make you better

Hardly worth the effort.

Expect to sign there next week
