Going back to TW there are certain things I cannot understand. As far as I am aware he has spent most time on the treatment table of late;therefore, I cannot see how he can be that disruptive, certainly not with the players. A poster said that he thanked everyone for making this move happen. If you are injured surely your main focus is getting fit, not looking for a move. This all seems a bit wierd to me, dont understand it all. Was he ever injured?
Dunno I was at the edge of my seat during the Sheffield Wednesday game... Much prefer seeing the team working together scoring goals like the one Makienok got, the spectacular goals (like Gudmundsson's against Cardiff last season) are good to see but 9/10 those shots are so frustrating because they never come off and are a waste of good build up play
I am not convinced it is even worth learning the names of our players anymore while this farcical revolving door recruitment policy continues. It's not just the coach who is interim, the whole bloody club is interim and the players fit as follows:
a, Crap so leave..Polish Pete, Le Point et al b. Pretty impressive and then leave... (Watt, the Israeli centre-back, the bloke who was on 40 a day but had a great pass and shot and the bald bloke who couldn't tackle but never missed a penalty who everyone liked, except me, Johnson, Eagles. Morrison, that French bloke we all adored etc) c. Pretty impressive and then suddenly crap and then leave. (Tucodean/Bikey/Harriot) d. Pretty impressive and then suddenly crap and then leave but then come back again (Reza) e.. Young and very talented and then leave after about 2 first team appearances (Gomez, Poyet) f. Too young to play so err.. leave on loan (Piggot, the lad at Gillingham) g. Injured or too old or knackered to leave or have no agent (Solly/Jackson and the treatment room XI) h. Those waiting to leave at the next opportunity (rest of the squad)
What about the Superstore selling squad shirts with removable numbers and letters?
More will attend the protests now... which is good... and once again we get an insight and clear illustration of the model in play...
Hopefully people will recognise there is simply no value in engaging with the Puppet that is KM and the sooner we let all interaction disappear, bad negative protests, the better...
It is now clear in black and white what their approach is, we can then decide to swallow it, protest it or simply walk away...
So more people are likely to protest as we are loaning out an out of form, possibly injured player with a bad attitude...

Its more that we've shipped out a talented yet troubled young player who has the potential to excite and replaced with a journeyman player that has had 1 decent season and is yet another complete gamble.
He's 21 so should be scoring more goals if he wants to make it at this level, he got tricks but can easily be found out, I wonder if he came through our Youth Team (rather than joining us externally) people on here would be saying that he should be sent on loan or let go now
Using quantitative statistics to analyse players makes plenty of sense and virtually every well-resourced club will utilise it to some degree.
However it must be combined with traditional qualitative (subjective) judgment to be truly useful - for those interested, many of these concepts were discussed in Michael Calvin's book, "The Nowhere Men."
For example a player may have outstanding passing completion stats but upon further examination it may be due to simply not taking any risks with the ball.
I heard and not reported this that he was suspended by the club because of the problem with the other player ...tired to get this confirmed but no one giving the answers yes or no
That doesnt matter though if they were scouted using the data analysis, I wish I had been mysrlf this season and more last to judge but I havent but on paper the squad looks more balanced and competitive to the one that started last season
OK - I reckon Chris Powell + the 2012/13 side that included Yann, Stephens, Morrison, Wiggins etc is much better than this one that we have right now. League standings suggest that as well considering our best finish in 4 years of the Championship has been with that Chris Powell side that came 9th.
Roland may have stabilised us financially, but from a footballing perspective he has completely messed us about. The league positions we have had under his reign tell that story.
The attendances also tell another story.
You can dress it up however you like, but the facts suggest that we've made very little progress on the pitch with this ownership. Off the pitch I don't recall fans feeling as disillusioned with it at all right now compared to the last 20 years.
We are in a relegation scrap NLA. And we are in one because of bad decision after bad decision. There is no 'master plan' that they have that is going to work!
9th was about 10 points off 20th that season. The Championship is a much tougher league this season than it was even 3 years ago. Progress is staying afloat
So do you think that on the pitch we are better off now than we were then?
Personally I think the Championship has got tougher with the money teams are pumping into it for the gamble of promotion, than it was say 3 years ago. Not massively, but I think it has got tougher. In part to parachute payments, increase of new wealthy owners etc.
I think the players we have now are better technical footballers in most cases with the ability to play better football, but the team back then had the spirit to grind out performances, which is equally as important.
With the right manager who can generate some good squad harmony I think this team could do very well, whilst playing well at that. However there is the problem, the manager. You can have quality players but if they aren't on the same wavelength or around long enough to gel, then what can you build? Stability is the key and not patchwork players to fill the gaps when we are in the brown stuff.
I think Watt is a great player but for squad harmony (if that is the reason) you need to get it right, the margin for error in this league is tiny and a player dividing the dressing room can make a massive different. He was cracking last season and gave us something to get behind and be excited about, his performances have been polar opposite at times this season. Sounds like he is happy enough to go, with Charlton feeling this is also the best thing they can do.
Based on what you've said - it seems as though you are suggesting agreement we are worse off then?
That managerial factor is the key difference and it isn't changing for the better any time soon it seems.
When I say on the pitch, I am talking about players by comparison and that is it, personally think these players are better quality.
The manager makes a difference of course. Riga made a difference, similarly Luzon made a difference last season.
Managerial appointment is vital, a manager with a clear game plan but not being stubborn to change it along with the players to execute it will breed success over time.
I loved Powell but don't think he could probably work aswell with some of these players as say a manager who prefers a passing more technical game, which is what we have tried to go for.
I heard and not reported this that he was suspended by the club because of the problem with the other player ...tired to get this confirmed but no one giving the answers yes or no
No wonder Jackson doesn't want to give you a scoop... You keep slating him on here and he isn't going to co-operate!!
You can only think that with the recent rise of Lookman, that Watt's continued presence, was even less essential to those at the top.
From the outside, it sounds like he has a bit of an attitude problem, and as someone like Ravel Morrison could probably agree, you can change as many clubs as you like, but sometimes the only solutions lie within.
Yes there maybe a certain theoretical logic re Lookman but in our heart of hearts we all know he will leave for peanuts in January orat the end of the season just as Poyet did before him. Even if we do manage to get some money it will be a fraction of his true worth a la Gomez. 19 year old Liverpool winger £49m 18 year old defender £3.5m.
I suspect most top two division clubs now have this covered in some form. It's not new and we are not alone in any way. Where we might be alone is that I suspect elsewhere this is 99% something used to back up a manager /club structure scouting network set up within the club. With us it is almost an independent contractor, based overseas.
It's certainly not new: I suspect clubs were doing it without even realising. In the most basic sense, games played and goals scored are data. Add to that all the other stuff available from the computer-based data collection software and you have a whole host of almost indecipherable guff. Particularly for younger players who have not had many games. How can you realistically factor in variables like the quality of the opposition, whether the opposition were having an off day or carrying injuries, etc, etc?
Let alone questions like how many pints of lager a player drank the night before a game.
Story on Twitter saying Watt had fallen out big time with Hendrson and Gudmunsson, and upset number of staff with is antics that Jackson and Euell had to intervene .... Interesting ....... no question the club done the right thing
You may as well just post this every message on CL instead of the dribble you post otherwise, be a lot easier for you.

Yet only a few days ago you were insisting that Watt wasn't playing due to injury and nothing else. You denied that any such falling out had happened.

We got rid of that and kept the more mundane players.
It's what Charlton do too much character or lack discipline your gone.
Who's gets you on the edge of your seat down there now no one

If it's that entertaining why do 3000 not bother

Tony Watt can dribble around whoever he likes, but if he can't score or be a team player... we don't need him.
Since he's been dropped we've ended our winless streak and won 2 on the bounce.
Someone is right and I don't think it's Tony Watt.
