They got a replacement in Vaz Te ? Not looking good tonight , in bringing someone in , race against time and we don't want a young Premership player , looking for a more established player
So it's safe to say that signing an 18 year old from Arsenal is imminent.

I don't think that there is any race going on at all. However, there seems to be some general relief around the club that TW has left the building.
Tony Watt is a perfectly capable striker. When he first came to The Valley, he muscled the last line of defence - shoved all aside - shot, and scored.
Now, he drops back to find the pass that he himself should receive. Head down, earnest endeavour, bustling and running in to a cul-de-sac. His terrific strengths should be 20 yards forward.
Crucially, our midfield is hopeless: skinned by Huddersfield, out-played by Rotherham, by-passed by all. We have the wrong manager, ineffective coaches - and an academy that issues small, peripheral players.
I wonder what Killer is thinking. And Mike Flanagan. And Paul Walsh. And Martin Robinson...

I'm not buying this fiction that VazTe is Watt's "replacement". Since when did this regime think or buy ahead of a departure? Vaz The was brought in because we'd jogged on McAleny and because Igor is crocked. I dare say we are frantically trying to cover for Watt as we speak, but as usual our peanuts will only be attractive to monkeys.
I very much doubt that we are frantically looking for a striker. I suspect the watt departure has been on the cards for weeks and that vaz Te was sourced precisely so we could let TW without a frantic panic.
Also the "why Cardiff?" Question. Maybe the only club we could persuade to take him given his reputation. It's a small world.
if we don't get another striker in we are fooked in my opinion -
Big Mak - essential to the way we play but never gonna be prolific, ten goals a season max
Vaz Te - been out a long while, without a Club this season for a reason, could work out but a big gamble
Reza - excellent last time out but that was his one and only decent performance, may be a one-off, but far too early to suggest he can be our saviour. Likely to be after a move to sunnier climbs.
KAG - potential but has suffered from playing too many games too early and also playing up top on his own.
Lookie - massive potential but only 18 with two hours in the first team behind him, it's unfair to expect too much of him this early, especially if people expect him to score regularly, which he won't.
so, basically, we will have to rely on JJ & JBG to chip in with a few each otherwise we are up wotsit creek without a paddle.

I think Diarra has made a huge difference in midfield. Perhaps Tony might have started banging them in again under recent performances
It would not have mattered if he had scored 10 / 15 goals already what happened of the pitch left the club with no choice but to let him go,
Unless Tony Watt gave a Glasgow Kiss to a coach or player, is there anyway he would be leaving the club for less than 5 million if he had 10 to 15 goals by November.
As your Colin Cognoscenti, maybe ?
I just don't see Tony as a Andy Todd( Let your fists do your talking)

I can just see the quote tomorrow from KM........." we just couldn't get the deals over the line before the loan window shut, we were working on at least 567 8 players coming in.....but we missed out due to time" Just like they say at the end of every transfer/loan window......all BS as usual!!

I've never jumped on you for your posts Colin but if you genuinely know what happened with TW you should at least give us a lead after a statement like that, even if you don't want to get done for libel!
May I give you an example? Leicester City are top of the Prem - and we are flirting with Port Vale. A few seasons ago, Yann Kermorgant scored for us - against Leicester, his previous team - he did it home and away, for us, again, twice.
Those curving free-kicks, up and over the wall. His goal at Dean Court, first game of the season, the way he swivelled and slammed it. Then the Van Basten-like volley that defied geometry in our promotion party at The Valley: Yann Kermorgant is a superb player. He scored 17 goals to get Bournemouth up to the Prem. Sold because Duchatalet deemed him "too old" and "not worth it".
Can you imagine Simon Makienok doing a bicycle-kick?
Thing is... How many games has Tony won us since joining... Maybe just the one against Queens Park Rangers?
No, you're right. No contribution to us staying up last season. His goals in the wins against Leeds, Cardiff and Huddersfield had no effect whatsoever.

I keep seeing this being written, but Big Mak scored 35 goals in 74 appearances for Brondy - he absolutely has the potential to be prolific.

Yes Yann was a great player for us. On the other hand Simon Francis was also a key member of the Bournemouth team that got promoted, and I didn't see too many complaints when we got rid of him!
