That's the talk all over twitter . If I was a cynic I would say this is all about the timing - just before the potential protests at the Ipswich game .
No doubt but also all about timing because the loan window closes on 25th.

Very disappointed with this...what Tutt Tutt said, he is our piano player. He is the kind of player that makes you look forward to the next game. Seriously, the management should do better at appeasement because he can be a game changer.
  • That only leaves Gudmundsson and possibly Lookman @ Charlton who can do things with a football I can't
Gutted it hasn't worked because on his day he's a proper player and a rarity that gets you on the edge of your seat

Fcuk off only two players, your shit.

Let's see what they have to say for themselves about this. Even Katrien Meire must realise that it requires an explanation. As usual the story has got away from them, but Tony Watt is clearly a temperamental character. Equally, Roland is bonkers, IMO. But I don't think a rush to judgement helps anyone.

Ha, ha, it does make me laugh on here, 5 pages of most jumping to conclusions!

I don't suppose for one minute Vaz Te was a cheap signing, Watt is only going on loan. If he is disruptive in the dressing room, then let him go, he's not needed. If he regains some form, then it will benefit us when he comes back, or even gets sold. If the rumours are true, Roly nicked him from S.L. then he hasn't cost us anything anyway!

Dick Plumb, who is closer to people at the club than 99% of us on here has indicated that there could be one, possibly two coming in before Thursday. Instead of throwing your toys out of the pram as usual, wait and see what happens!

I can't really get excited about short term relegation scrap loans anymore

A fortunate coincidence for the club.

Of the entire current playing staff (not incl Watt of course) only 1 player, possibly 2, can do things with a football that you can't.

    OK

He is potentially one of the best strikers we have had for years. If he was able to replicate his good performances week in week out, he would be worth a lot of money. I can put up with the odd game where he gets tackled every time or doesn't pass to team-mates, but not if he is doing that consistently. He had a reputation for not completing 90 minutes before he arrived, and I think that we have over-played him (through necessity really), which has meant he has had to keep going with injuries he might otherwise have been able to rest. I would have loved to have had Igor available for an hour, then bring on TWWW in each game (or vice versa) - that would have been an awesome scenario.

Why the club is making this move (if indeed it does happen...) I don't know - maybe financial; maybe influence; maybe tactics and shape?

The danger is obviously if the management cannot bring in another replacement for him if he goes - Reza, Lookman and KAG are all still very lightweight at this level, and Vaz Te is unknown at present (despite what he did five years ago). Unless we go to a Premiership club and get a (good!) young striker, it will have to be a non-contract signing (like Vaz Te) and there aren't that many decent players around that are available that fit the bill...
  • Love to see Watt play at his best but, rightly or wrongly, he's always struck me as having Premier League skill but a Sunday League attitude.

Shame, but I'm not surprised it seems to be ending in this way.

Does this mean Vaz is a replacement for Tony watt?

I'm not sure we will be bringing in any more strikers.

Talk of Yann, if he were treated so badly before why would he want to come back? If as some said he shafted us why would KM/RD want him back?

As I said, why not wait and see before moaning.

Is Vaz Te a relegation scrap signing in your opinion?

    I think we have to.

  • Just as you thought Vaz Te might just be an addition to the squad rather than yet another short-term replacement. Same old Katrien.

Not playing for Bournemouth and has a house near The Valley ?
  • Sending him to a rival team is crazy.

Nothing new is it. Yann, Stephens, Dervite, Morrison.

Great to watch when he's on form and I wouldn't give up on him yet but we don't know what's happened behind the scenes. At the start of the season he looked like one of the players we needed to get results, yet we've won the last two without him even being in the squad.

Perhaps Watt not being in the team has already played a part in better team spirit and confidence. I'm not sure he's worked as hard off the ball as he did last season and he often looks like he could/should be fitter. He frustrated us watching when he regularly tried to take on too many players and lost the ball. I'm sure it would have been frustrating for his teammates as well.

Of course it's not ideal letting him join a Championship rival on loan. I hope a replacement is more than Vaz Te and hoping Lookman is ready to play a bigger part. If it means we bring in one or two players that strengthen the squad and continue to get results it could well prove to be the right decision.
  • If this is a with a view to a permanent deal type loan then I I think we're giving up on him way too soon, especially as we still only have Mak and Reza who are in any way experienced and even close to fully fit.

If it's a chance for him to get fit and in a bit of form in someone else's team I'm okay with that, but Cardiff seems a weird choice of team to send him to.

Something needs to happen to sort him out he's no good to man or beast as he is performing at the moment.

His last few appearances he has been poor and he has been playing as a individual and not as a team player.

However to loan him out to a team in the same division is bonkers, so with our owner and CEO the story must be true.

They were so happy to hide behind Watt at the VIP QA back in February, within 9 months he is another one to be on the moved on.

What's the deal with JBG and Watt???

Not sure where this has come from, it's bizarre. I've been down the training ground quite a few times and him and JBG look like very good mates. Always bantering each other and eat meals together so baffled as to how this false claim originated.

Is there a single bit of evidence or is this just like the Vetokele to.... Cardiff saga?

I think it was also Cardiff right?

Maybe, considering Rotherham said no to him. I'd say Vaz Te was more of a panic buy after the protests though, as he was free but had English experience.

    (Excuse the quote malfunction!)

  • I don't think it's attitude or falling out with players. More like, he's told the powers that be what he thinks of them, particularly after Luzon departed.

KAG and Watt always seemed to be at each other when playing, Cousins and Watt too, maybe there was more to out than just them bickering on the pitch? He is a very self-involved footballer though, smacks of the kid in the playground who tries to run rings round everyone several times, but gets pissed off if you don't immediately pass to him.
  • I have no idea what it is, Just there will be one more likely to do with why a player of his calibre and talent has moved so often at his tender age, to me it's a loss greater than anything km and Rd are alleged to have done already, however if it's because he is a bad egg and kf and je think it's a good idea then so be it,

You nor I will know. But if the replacement is as good or more reliable in the mins he will get on the pitch then it will turn out to be the right move

What if you were offered yann instead of watt would that work for you

Why would Bournemouth loan Yann out when they're short of forwards? Why would he ever want to work under Roland again? Why would he choose us when he's bound to have better offers? I'll be amazed if it happens. Vaz Te is Watt's replacement.

  • Vaz Te is McAlenys replacement.
Seems a shame to give up on Watt - shall await developments with interest

  • Something has been up with Watt since the end of August, and even there was the disciplinary issue with Luzon before the QPR game. He's looked less and less fit, and seemed to be playing more and more as an individual, rather than a team player. And why has he been out the last few games? No real injury explanation has been given
