I applaud the club for wanting to include a BAME and a LBGT representative on the Group. When you look at crowds, either at the Valley or elsewhere, the under representation of the BAME group is quite apparent and although, of course, it's not possible to visually identify the LBGT group, my guess is they're under-represented too. For longevity, this under representation is one of the things the club and wider game have to improve upon. So well done the club, I hope reps can be found soon.
Airman - this is a real admittance that this group has little chance of any success unless it has someone of your experience on it. Therefore a real one-off opportunity for you to lay down the ground rules, including access to important information. An impossible task otherwise (but you didn't need me to tell you that)
However he got on that list, if he accepts or not, fair play to the club, as they must know Rick is not someone who will be afraid to be honest about what changes the club needs to make if they really do want our club to grow back towards what it once was.
Not that I am expecting this to lead to anything or they actually listen to the fans but still, surprised his name is on that list, assumed he would be on a list of 2% trouble makers to be avoided at all costs. ;-)

But as they haven't appointed a representative for these categories (or the corporate hospitality) can we conclude that no one from these demographics applied ?
What a complete waste of time, sorry, but just people wanting to be in the mix, with no hope of success until we get a decent team. I know some mean well, but does anyone, honestly expect 20,000 without success on the pitch? Spend money on the team RD, the support will follow, without meetings and silly gimmicks
Did anybody apply for the over 35's? if they did what a farce the selection process is, if I had applied and the person selected did not apply, I would be seeking a meeting with KM to ask why, I hope Rick agrees to being part of this committee, and least we stand a better chance of knowing what goes on.

To be honest I don't quite agree - I think the way you get 20,000 people is with success on the pitch, but success isn't going to be everlasting. The way you keep those 20,000 when success is eluding you is through making people feel like they belong to the club and it to them.
Things like the Target 20,000 group could be the start of this regime getting the second part of that equation right, but I agree it's not much use without the first part.

I assume so @se9addick. Definitely a demographic gap that needs closing.
On a further note, there's also an opportunity to leverage and involve Greenwich University which I hope KM is doing something about. As an example, why not give their Marketing students an assignment on "how to reach T20k", we'd get the benefit of their thoughts and ideas plus that of their lecturers and tutors. Can't do any harm and may help encourage students to come to games.
As @redman alluded to, there's an opportunity inside T20k to legitimately delve into club plans and strategy. Such inside knowledge may help us to decide whether the current Trust strategy, for example, should be continued or whether there's a case for quickly ramping up things like protests and boycotts?
Additionally, if the club limit T20k access to strategic information, that will give us a message about their real intent too.
Like you, I'm in favour of ramping it up now but there are too many (I think?) who aren't, so it's probably better to wait a while for them to catch us up?
It may also be that we have completely got hold of the wrong end of the stick?

Time will tell I guess.
I think you may have the wrong end of the stick, as J Block aludes to, you're helping them work the attendances up, this gives them as owners security in what they do once they have that money. We know how these guys work, they speak when they need to speak and keep quiet the rest of the time.. The reason they have brought this 20k plan out is for a few reasons, 1 being that it includes fans that oh so dearly want to feel involved to their club, 2 being it's communication, 3 in fans eyes upping attendances is a step forward.. I'm not so sure it is, personally.
This is just my opinion, hopefully it goes well but I don't think this will change the owners plans, allow us into their strategy or anything like that - it's simply giving them a safety net.
Also, why would non-fans purchase a season ticket to something where the people convincing them to buy the ST's aren't happy with the way the club is run? If someone told me to join a gym but then told me it was a really shitly run gym and no money was ever spent, and it was getting worse, would I join? No. And also, why would people who aren't happy with the way thing are going, without things changing, rejoin? They won't, I won't be re-purchasing a season ticket, hundreds if not thousands will be in the same boat - these won't be changed by marketing campaigns.
Where have they got this supporters club member to represent the target 20k committee when there has not been a main supporters club in the last 5 plus years?
You have missed the point of a business development working group, which is what T20k should be, completely.
What you have done is created another fans forum.
The business development working group (BDWG) is not about being representative but about bringing in specialist talents to look at and in some case generate ideas in DETAIL.
Will you share season ticket prices and proposed prices with this group and do they have the sales, marketing and business development skills to analyse them?
They may well do, I don't know the people so their CVs may well contain all these skills but it doesn't appear that they have been chosen for that reason.
And where is @Addickted2TheReds or did the "stand up for the 2% protest" lead to them being too afraid to pick a young fan with ideas and opinions?
Yet you appoint Rick/Airman Brown when he didn't apply. Who's idea was that? Whoever it was it isn't as smart as you think. Your plan, IHMO, was to put him in a catch 22 situation. If he says no you think you can say "well, we invited him but he wouldn't join" and if he says yes then you think you'll be able to say "Rick was the club development manager for years and he's on board so we must be right". You really don't get it at all do you.
Katrien, you have listen to Tony Keohone again and again he has lead you down the garden path. Pack the meetings out so they become unworkable and hey presto Tony doesn't get any criticism. Just like the other meetings. They didn't work, you didn't impress many people and you don't learn anything. So you make the same mistakes again and again and even some new mistakes no one has seen before.
The BDWG will die a slow death because you and Tony won't reveal any confidential information (an essential requirement) and you haven't thought about who should be on it for their skills, only who they are meant to represent.
Truly a opportunity wasted or should I say an opportunity deliberately undermined before it has even begun.
Disappointing, very disappointing.
The protests, in whatever form, will only carry on.
They might quieten for a while and we might win a few games but they will continue because you haven't changed.
What does anyone expect. The model is as she told us player sales whilst providing a good match day experience. Big crowds are a bonus and talking about them just to keep the fans quiet. Target 5000 only answer. DONT GO TO HOME GAMES
A bit like the Climate Change Summit in Paris- setting an unrealistic target which gives those involved a temporary feeling of euphoria but achieves nothing else.

And everyone is falling head over heals for it because it feels like progression of our football club. It's unrealistic and the only thing it'll achieve is a couple more bums on seats that RD & KM has already lost - and guess who's winning them back? Not RD & KM. The fans. Who's hard work can be so easily undone with another of one of their 101 how not to run a Football Club actions..

Who is this "everyone" you refer to ?
Those who want involved, obviously a bit over the top using the word everyone, slight tongue in cheek.. but 'everyone' who seems to be in favour of this Target 20k, which is far more than those who are 'against it (against the timing and the manner of which it's being done, not against having 20,000 fans at The Valley).
As a whole/generally people are viewing this as a step forward from the current regime, seemingly?
please - who is Tony Keohone and what is he meant to do?
He is basically an organiser. He looks after the day to day running of the stadium etc. He's been at it a while, he used to work for Arsenal at the Emirates.
