A bit like the Climate Change Summit in Paris- setting an unrealistic target which gives those involved a temporary feeling of euphoria but achieves nothing else.
And everyone is falling head over heals for it because it feels like progression of our football club. It's unrealistic and the only thing it'll achieve is a couple more bums on seats that RD & KM has already lost - and guess who's winning them back? Not RD & KM. The fans. Who's hard work can be so easily undone with another of one of their 101 how not to run a Football Club actions..
Who is this "everyone" you refer to ?
Those who want involved, obviously a bit over the top using the word everyone, slight tongue in cheek.. but 'everyone' who seems to be in favour of this Target 20k, which is far more than those who are 'against it (against the timing and the manner of which it's being done, not against having 20,000 fans at The Valley).
As a whole/generally people are viewing this as a step forward from the current regime, seemingly?
Slight tongue in cheek? Totally misleading actually, worthy of a KM statement

There could be a bloc of people who would consider it a step forward even if they have doubts about the way it is being organised and how effective it might turn out to be. Such people are definitely not "falling for" anything. And yes, I'm in that bloc right now.
The problem is that any new fans that could be attracted now, will only fill the gaps of those that have left already or those that do not intend to renew their ST's at the end of the season. They need to find a way to stop the exodus, get the recent regulars to come back (myself included) and then hope to attract the rest to make it up to 20k.
For those interested, the background to this is that on the day before the Ipswich game I was at The Valley to deliver some books to the shop. While I was there I met Mick Everett and he asked me if I would be willing to participate in a Target 20k committee, along with some of the other people who had previously been involved with Target 40k/10k, and who had already indicated at the recent meeting that they would e.g. former VIP directors Steve Clarke and Craig Norris.
On that basis, because I have a lot of respect for Mick, and because I think there is an onus on me to be constructive as well as critical, I said that in principle I would. However, when the initiative was announced it was clear that the goalposts had been moved and it had been changed into a representative focus group, rather than a mechanism to draw on the experience outside the club.
As well as this being stated in the website story, I received two emails from the club saying that people who had previously agreed to be involved would now need to "apply" under the new structure, which I was not willing to do.
The club then sent me an email late on Friday telling me my "application" had been successful and announced that I would represent over 35s, which was news to me.
TBH I'm relaxed about it either way. It's a 130-mile round trip for me to get to The Valley and I'm not inclined to make it to play charades. Mick's involvement and that of others with experience is pretty fundamental to ensuring that it isn't, which is no disrespect to other supporters who have offered their time. Nobody is arguing that it should be confined to the old guard.
In my view this is about retention not recruitment at present - people distracted by the title miss the point. There is a great deal the club could very easily do better than it is at no additional cost to itself. The fundamental issue remains the football, which won't be impacted by this group at all, but that doesn't mean there is nothing that can be done which is positive.
As an aside, it's notable that despite the attempt to make it representative, which I agree with Henry is a total misunderstanding of what it should be, the club has named only one woman in its list of members.

So WUM54 waded in on a simple comment explaining the latest controversy, attempted a clever comment to make himself feel like he's lived up to his Daddy's expectations ("Yes" he screamed, "I've got them now Daddy!")—but got tripped up on the person making the comment—and then was put right but someone who can actually read what's been written.
Still think target 5000 has more chance. We don't have to do anything or meet anyone, as Ducatalet, the failed CEO, the endless Belgian interim managers and the majority of club staff do the work for us.

Messages read & understood. You implore all fans not to go & you want a target 5,000. I think we all get it

Seems fairly straightforward.
Daddy's expectations? Can you explain ?
Your trolling seems to have took a back step, it used to have some substance, now it is asking people to relay their points in layman's terms to you.. Odd.

Commentator says a lot of people in Holt End got up in unison and have walked out.
"Some of the spaces behind the goal are as big as the holes in the Villa defence".
Shame for such a great club.
Stayed until the bitter end trying to support my team.

I should imagine the meetng will close by 1.05 pm.
There's nothing to discuss.
The plan is now laid bare. You couldn't give away 20,000 tickets for each game, let alone expect fans to buy them, unless they change their plan.
Look forward to hearing your view on it at half time then
We can play charades if you like.
I'll start .
Sounds like ...?
