So there are *some* (and I could not find a major or even remotely impartial news source covering this angle, NCRM is very much pro-Clinton/Dems) claiming that a speech Trump gave today has strong undertones of Anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, namely that the [Jew] media and the [Jew] banks and [Jew] corporations are out to get all of you. I went as far as to listen to some of his speech to try to get a context and, as an anti-semitic Jew who has problems with banks and corporations I still can't make heads or tails of it.

There are definitely parallels with Trump's speech and a New World Order conspiracy theory in which the Jew bankers and Jew media run the world. But by that same token, plenty of people, including Agnostic Jews (myself, Bernie Sanders, in that order) have problems with the influence of banks and corporations on American lives, let alone the fact that most of our mainstream media organizations (including the conservative ones) are owned by large corporations.

So, um, call it a draw? This is what this election has become, trying to figure out if one candidate spent 40 minutes spouting an anti-Semitic New World Order conspiracy theory and wondering if I should start using my mum's last name just in case...

In a surprise move Jeremy Corbyn has just come out, and groped Trump grabbing him by the balls, he was later heard to say 'when you are a socialist star you can do what you want, grab them by the cock, the balls, anything.'

That speech was totally consistent with the anti-Washington elite tone of his campaign from the beginning. The anti-Semitic claim is complete bollocks.

That is twice today I have defended Trump!

You've got to admire Trump's intolerance. Jew or Muslim hating politicians are a dime a dozen but not many go after both faiths so enthusiastically. In many ways he's quite progressive in the equality of his bigotry.

Just read the transcript of his latest speech and I didn't get any of the anti Semitic stuff mentioned but it is full of paranoia and hate and he almost describes himself as the one to stop the four horsemen of the apocalypse riding in and laying waste to America. You could sense he was frothing at the mouth towards the end. Scary stuff. And it all feels like some epic drama with a cliffhanger at the end of each day.

I think @Red_in_SE8 puts it best when he says it sounds like his usual frothing at the mouth nonsense, which is almost more scary! RIS, I felt the same way, and it feels dirty inside, doesn't it? Like no shower is going to make you feel clean.

If you are, for some reason, curious about the New World Order "Jewish Cabal" that people say Trump may be referencing, you could do what I did and YouTube search for things like "New World Order Jews" and you will come up with videos with titles like "The Illuminati, Freemasonry and the New World Order jewish bankers behind all wars and revolutions of 20th century." It's a title that reads like someone is shouting it at you!

I would fucking love to know what the Google algorithms think of me right now.

Lot of allegations coming trumps way.

Sexual assault allegations of the past.

For someone in line to become president of the United States....it's a bit of a hit.

    Innocent till proven guilty.

Image wise. Probably the worst possible thing that could be thrown at you a month before Election Day.

Lose a lot if the undecided.

One of the best articles I've read recently on the Trump/angry-white-man phenomenon, written by someone who, refreshingly, seems to be able to see both sides of the story

    http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-reasons-trumps-rise-that-no-one-talks-about/

He concludes "It feels good to dismiss people, to mock them, to write them off as deplorables. But you might as well take time to try to understand them, because I'm telling you, they'll still be around long after Trump is gone."

I'm not sure what's more scary. The thought of Trump in the Oval Office or the thought of scores of millions of people who will actually vote for him in a few weeks time. What the hell are they thinking. I know we're supposed to respect the opinions of others but I literally cannot have any respect for anyone who would vote for this moron.

A quote often attributed to Alexis de Toqueville is apt here:

"In a democracy, people get the government they deserve"

Wikileaks stuff is very very shady. Not sure American citizens would be happy that (potentially) Russian backed sites are trying to fix the outcome of the election.

Unfortunately people seem quite content to ignore where the information comes from if it fits their agenda.

The most worrying thing about this election is, in my opinion, not the possibility of Trump becoming POTUS (which is horrifying.) but actually the level of Russian intervention in the process. Alas, Trump supporters are on Twitter begging WikiLeaks to release more data - and when challenged they just ignore how dodgy it is that Russia is getting directly involved in there election.

You're talking about desperate people who have seen their parents well paid jobs outsourced and have been forced into trailer park reservations (or fear they will soon) by sky high housing/living costs. Does it really surprise you that they're somewhat unenthused by establishment politicians? Why should they vote for Hillary who will deliver more of the same?

Trump is just a symptom of a system that is buckling because fewer and fewer people derive any benefits from it. I don't like or agree with Trump but I can empathise with people who have been shafted by forces outside their control and I can't bring myself to condemn them for being angry even if I disagree with the focus of their rage.

I guarantee other populists are looking at Trump and how far he's made it. When their time comes they won't make the same mistakes. I'd be more worried about them than the pantomime villain we've got right now.
