  • Got some pace in the Englnad attack today - both Plunkett and Wood clocking over 90mph, and even Woakes approaching 90 at times.
  • Great knock by Sarfraz, single handedly keeping Pakistan in the game
  • Pak 251 all out off 50
  • Roy bowled second ball inside edge 0-1.
  • Hales b Iman 14 - really ugly innings - think he's in danger of being dropped now.
  • 72-2 off 16
  • 147-3 Morgs out bowled 68
  • 105 needed off 118 balls
  • 203-4 off 38 Stokes with a cameo 43 - very good innings.
England cruising with lots of wickets in hand.
  • 49 needed off 73

  • Root 75 no - can he get a hundred?
  • 219-5 Buttler run out by Root
    England need 33 off 59
  • That lbw decision on Moeen by the umpire was outrageous. Good job we still had a review available. Marginal whether it even hit him in line and it was swinging away. Appalling decision.
I guess 'correcting terrible decisions' is the point of reviews though eh?
  • Root out 89

12 to win from 32. 4 wickets remaining
  • England won by 4 wickets with 2+ overs left.
  • 3rd ODI at Trent Bridge

England won the toss and are batting - 18/0 after 3 overs.

    England unchanged
Pakistan - Nawaz in for Imad (injured)

Hales can't complain he hasn't been given enough chances...

I'm surprised Adam Lyth has never been given a go in ODIs as he's quite an aggressive opening batsman

Can't believe how many want Alex Hales out after a couple of poor knocks.

ODI stats in the last 12 months (UAE, South Africa and English Summer) (before today):

    15 matches
    712 runs @ 54.77
    3 100s, 4 50s
  • Get that Hales out the team.......
    Well batted Alex!
  • 25 overs gone

    166-1

    Hales 100*
    Root 44*

    Drop Woakes for Jordan too.
  • This is bloody murder. And look at the batting to come! 400, easily
  • HUGE, score possible here
  • They normally say double the total after 30 overs if you have few wickets down.

Completely agree. Not sure he's a test match batsman but should definitely be 1 of the 1st names on the one day teamsheet

That was always the rule but certainly in the last couple of years, you could double it after 35

Not if you're on 250+ haha. Unless you have Kohli, AbdV, Gayle up against a bunch of Chris Jordan's.

Look set for a 385 circa I'd say here, incredible platform set by this pair.

Yeah, think 385 is a more realistic total - however, with Buttler and Stokes to come , we might see more than 400 - coz 10 overs of them together could be mayhem.
    We shall see.
  • Yeah it depends on the circumstances of course.

    I think we'll get over 400
