Well managers these days want control over recruitment. Press conference to unveil Steve Head as new Head Coach & Head of Recruitment and Interim Ticket Office Manager

Is part of the interview process seeing if they fit into the clubs laundry basket?

    Evans is F*cked then.
Dunno! It's a short fat laundry basket. Could be favourite!

So they want a British manager, they want to improve team spirit, they have admitted making mistakes and have a fanbase and club in serious decline.

They should be on their f**king knees begging Chris Powell to come back.

If they think about things long enough, they will realise that whoever they appoint will need a year to win the fans over.

Unless they eat humble pie and re-hire CP, but he would be mad to take the job after the way they
    treated him.

I will officially turn Scottish on that day, although i am tempted by Belgium... don't know why.

Got no problems with Adkins , but Slade I think will take us back as well , Billy Davies is a winner but concerned the time he had out of the game
My choice would be the Plymouth manager, done a great job there since coming down from Scotland and got a great future ahead of him and will be snapped up by a bigger club

Derek Adams - good call there Colin.

Slade coming to us from Cardiff would seem better than a Rochdale/Northampton? What's the downside with him or do people just generally not rate him as a manager so much?

From reading the last 10 odd pages on here what's very clear is that a Network stooge apart whoever we do appoint will have some vociferous detractors, some supporters and a lot of wait-n-sees (I'll be in the last category....)

If they beat Wimbledon Plymouth will be in the same league as us next season. He then has to make the decision to live and work in Devon or SE7..............................mmmmmmmm tough one that.

It doesn't matter who we get, any one of them could "take us Back". This is the regime we're talking about.

The fact is the board do not know how to appoint a non network manager!

There is no strategy which means no hope! Lawrence reportedly told them to go for wilder but there is no plan b.

Hill, Evans, Adkins, cotterill, etc could all be ok on paper but a) the board do not how who to appoint because they are clueless and b) will struggle to convince a manager to come. They have turned us into a joke. The Spivs appointed Powell, backed him and it worked but they also interviewed decent candidates at the time like Johnson and Tisdale. They had options

The problem is that most English managers are aware of our current situation and won't touch us unless very desperate for work, the belgiums have ruined our reputation which I'm assuming is known nationwide within the game. That's why its a two horse race between nobby and the Spanish guy

I just don't understand how Wilmotts is not appearing on all these lists of odds from the all the different bookies. It's like they haven't heard this surefire tip-off from Ceefax.
