I just don't understand how Wilmotts is not appearing on all these lists of odds from the all the different bookies. It's like they haven't heard this surefire tip-off from Ceefax. The mugs
If nothing else it is at least an improvement over the Luzon and Carol appointment debacles in that the club is at least going through the motions of flirting with credible candidates before appointing a complete tosser.
Surely the club would have compiled a short list. So when Wilder was crossed off, they would have moved to the next. Assuming the next isn't currently in a job there needn't be any publicity, but the length of time - vital time - that has elapsed since Wilder ducked out suggests further rejections or inability to agree terms with other potential manager/s - just not done in the public/press glare. This suggests that any decent manager can't sign up to what they will identify as obstacles to success, which is worrying and suggests the owner has learned nothing.
The longer this goes on, I feel the more likely it is that we end up appointing a Nobby Vinegar.
I look forward to the press release for that one.
That won't happen. It would be an ultimate embarrassment for RD in not being able to appoint a British manager.
If we get to that situation then I'm sure it will be someone like Simon Clark with JJ.
Would anything RD does surprise you? It is very much known that he wanted to give us Nobby after his love child Karel failed.
I wouldn't be to unhappy with Simon Clarke to be honest, as everything I hear about him is good. Don't think we should be appointing him as a last resort though.

Yeah I'm beginning to doubt if they'll find a human willing to do this job. Perhaps they can persuade a robot from one of the Melexis factories...

If everyone reading this went down the bookies and put a pound on Wilmots, would we see a story about how we were considering him.
I know Scottish football isn't the greatest but surely he would want one crack at the Scottish prem & Celtic.
I look forward to the press release for that one.
Unless thats what their plan is... Wear down the fans so they just think: Finally we've got someone without us caring a jot who the idiot is
SCP, Adkins and Cotterill interviewing for the Bolton job.
The three men were interviewed by Ken Anderson on Monday in what the co-owner described as a “high-class” field of 94 applicants.
Another manager, who is currently employed, was forced to cancel his meeting earlier this week but it is hoped he will reschedule.
