  • Another manager in Division two has been contacted regarding the vacancy at the club twice and has turned it down twice due to the insecurity and the way the club gets rid of managers.
The club is totally toxic and the fact we cannot attract managers means it will make our dealings harder within the transfer market as a player will be keen to know that the manager sees him in his plans.
The only way this club will now move forward is to have a new owner or CEO.

    Who was the manager?
I know it would be wrong of me as his number two (the manager and would have taken him with him) has told me in privacy.
  • Is this going to be our David Hockaday moment?

    Neil Ardley probably.

Agree with this - apart from one thing.

'The only way this club will more forward is to have a new owner AND CEO'.
  • Jackson getting closer to evens again and Slade coming the other way. Reckon someone knows something regarding Jackson coming in, but think it'd be as an assistant to get some experience.

Jacko as assistant to someone who knows championship football for me warnock or curbs with Jacko as no 2 learning the trade , but that ain't never gonna happen .

Justin Edinburgh and Jacko would also be a good shout .
  • Jackson + Clark = £0 extra cost.

In the eyes of Meire and Roland that is a win win.
  • Appointing Jacko would be an admission of failure on a monumental scale.... but if it does come down to Jackson then there are positives to be taken.

The fans will unite behind him

You may be right, but count me out. (Sorry if that upsets anyone)
We're Charlton Athletic, not fooking Ebbsfleet.
Go cut your teeth somewhere else Jacko (no offence)
I do sort of agree but in the context of where we are in both league and owners it's not beyond the norm to make an appointment of this type. We've done it before with success and like I said before both League one play off finalists yesterday had managers with little or no experience.

It is now Jackson 5/6 Slade evens
  • Jackson would be a fool to take the job.
  • I would be very pleased with jacko as assistant to an experienced manager
  • Slade manager with Jacko no 2
  • Slade 5/6 Jackson evens.

Or to put it another way: -
    Slade manager with Jacko? No.2

Seriously though, what you suggest probably the best we are going to do at the moment.
    Gawd 'elp us.

  • dont want slade
  • Playoffs now out of the way. Doubt Ardley is available. Adams?
  • Slade 8/11 Jackson evens.
  • Jason euell manager
    Jonny Jackson assistant
  • Jackson + Clark = £0 extra cost.

Remember Curbs and Gritty! That could work for us!
  • Rotherham given permission to speak to Alan Stubbs

Not sure we will get Neil Ardley Now I think he will want to have one more season with Wimbeldon ...
I don't see why everyone is unhappy with Jackson if we were championship team no way but div one having seen a number of games at this level , think it would be a perfect way to start in management ,and be successful but he needs someone above him like a Lennie or Russell Slade ,

Blimey. I nearly choked on my tea then!!
Why? Colin's predicted the death of Jackson's footballing career so many time on here and every time he's popped up with a match winning goal and a performance that's driven the whole team forward. Jackson quitting playing to become a manager means Colin can criticise his footballing ability without the bloke proving him wrong again. Jackpot.
