Didnt we release Ibe because he didnt have the right attitude?

Sounds like that gave him the kick up the backside @ Wycombe to sort himself out

No idea but wouldn't be the first mistake we've made releasing players too soon.
It'll always happen at any Academy.

Just like there can be questions as to how we missed the Wright-Phillips when they were from Greenwich or Chris Smalling who grew up around the Maidstone area

Think that's harsh. The churn of youngsters at all clubs is massive. There will always be examples of young players released by clubs turning it around or developing later. On the whole I think Charltons youth development has been very good.

I thought it was down to his size

I've done a search yet doesnt really say anywhere... Although the usual reasons of size does get a mention

So basically the phony war is over, they have given up boosting season ticket sales prior to the fire sale. Now we will sell everything we can, below price and dump our morals that made this club different by taking money off a betting company.

Really hard to make a call on a player when he's 12.

I always remember the kid at Ajax - Sonny Pike. What he was and wasn't going to do......never made it and was finished in football at 17

Lookman never got picked up, and look how good a player he is.

Our system in the whole has been generally very good - well at least in my time supporting the club.

So all quiet on the Turner, Kilgallon and Wheater fronts.

If we sell Cousins, it will tell me that we are neglecting the season after next.

great so we can have both o'hara and johnson, who weren't a complete dressing room apocalypse together at wolves

A lot of wot happened at Wolves was down to Kenny jacket , ok Jamie didn't help himself with certain things towards wolves fans , but some of the things jacket did would piss most players off .
I've never heard this before, what did he do
Wot most people get is paper talk , wot happens behind the scenes most of us don't get to hear about Jacket done his bit and some of the players did theirs disharmony does happen both ways , not gonna go into it but certain things happened .

dont think Pope staying or going is a big issue to be honest , Dillion Phillips is a better all round keeper plus I can see the experienced Lewis coming in from Cardiff ....because even if Pope stays our goalkeepers will be very young

We need a new right back Solly injured again with his knee , he cannot be relied on anymore , had very good reports from WHU fans about the young lad we are suppose to be after

How many times have you seen Dillon Phillips play?

I wonder why Burnley don't just buy Philips then. I know he's never played a league game and is recovering from injury but better all round keeper.

Got to love the Solly digs. Going to replace Jackson soon as number 1 rant figure.

Dillon Phillips better than Pope? Oh ok, even Colin is struggling to put a positive spin on things now.

He's had his off field problems. Kenny Jackett made him train with u21s at Wolves. But he's turned a corner now I reckon and realises this is his last chance.

    Exactly .

Brighton have matched the asking price for Cousins for a while now and wondering what the hold up is.....

If Pope does go then I am certain that another senior goalkeeper will be brought in. Slade is not a fool. It would be madness not to.

You haven't seen him twenty times Colin, that is just a fib. Next time you are down the training ground let me know and I will introduce myself. Dillon Phillips is a good keeper as is Dimi Mitov but if you speak to Lee Smelt he will tell you how good Pope is.

We will get an older head in even if Pope stays
But according to you we wouldn't need to if Phillips is better than Pope who would be number one this season.

I'm not as fortunate as you and have only seen him for 19 games and 87 mins - I had to leave early. I couldn't quite hear what the GK coaches were saying as there wasn't a hearing induction loop nearby.
