As if Rudd would join us on a long term permanent deal!
It's a decent signing, Rudd gets a season to show everyone how good a keeper he can be and we get a good keeper who really shouldn't be in the third tier of football, but he is, and he's our player for the year, and should be more than capable of being our number 1
Last year of his contract. Make him feel welcome, have a great season and he'll be ours
So if as expected it is Pearce in, Tex out.........

Would there be a better back 5 in league 1 football?
When you have no fit centre midfielders it puts pay to having a good back four. As we have seen last season, a couple of injuries and the leaks start to pour.

Agree, Solly is probably the most injury prone player in the defence and Bauer hasn't had much luck either! fox could leave before then too!

Or, more likely, sign for a club higher up the food chain.
Only takes an injury at Norwich (or Rudd himself) to put us back into the brown stuff!
An injury at Norwich won't affect us until January
How come? Would imagine Norwich have a recall option on this
You don't normally have recall options on longer term loans unless they say the recall comes in the January window. You'd have to be pretty stupid at negotiating to have a recall clause inserted that could take place at any time within the season... so yeh actually I suppose there is one.
Get a grip man!! Didn't we have Scot Carson when we got relegated. A good keeper doesn't get promotion alone, it helps if the 10 in front do their job as well......

It's a season loan & Norwich can only recall him in the transfer window ie January.

Recall clauses on season long loan deals can't be before the start of the next transfer window, unless long term injured, whereby the parent club want the player to go through the rehab etc and any surgery under their supervision

We still need probably the same number of signings again, but I have no complaints over the deals that have been done, at least regarding incoming players. All good players at this level, just get us some more please.
Caldwell also revealed Jason Pearce, who continues to be linked with a move to Charlton, has been ‘doing some work with the fitness coaches’ after suffering a knock, which explains his recent absence.
An Actual effing signing. Does Russell Slade always take this long before achieving a satisfactory arrival? Mrs Slade must be delighted and exhausted, permanently.
I'm not really one for hearsay and all that jazz. Reliable source, who more often than not gets it right. He told me yesterday 2 would sign today - so, 1 down, 1 to go.
Getting late for the second one though, unless he's been training up in Wigan and is driving down tonight to complete the deal, but then I can't see it being done until tomorrow anyway

Confine idle chit chat to the 'Piles' thread please.
Can't be denied that it is a positive during these dreadful dark times.

Looks like Pearce has a touch of the Texeira's.
