Maybe it's what ajose needs though?

A big guy who can have the ball lumped up to him and ajose can score off the knock down etc.

Be nice to have a big man who can also score though.

    25 years old and 6'2'' this is his profile from Wiki, which reads;

'Having spent the majority of his youth career as a goalkeeper, he switched to striker in 2008 before turning professional in 2009. He has been described by former Cardiff City academy manager Neal Ardley as having "lightning-quick pace, a great leap and powerful in the air'.

    28 goals in 194 league appearances = 1 in nearly 7

Adds another option to Novak up front and to get the best out of Ajose. But two CMs and a winger is now a must.

I think he'll be a decent addition. Limited footballer but will help Ajose. Wonder where it leaves Novak? On the bench, probably.
    Was Novak a Slade buy?

We need 4/5 strikers, it's up to them all to fight for their place.

Magennis up front with Ajose and Novak attacking midfielder solves 2 problems. Midfield of Holmes, Croft, Novak, Lookman. Silly me, that is an attacking formation. Magennis on bench

Novak isn't a midfielder. We need 2 CMs and a winger in to complete the squad and that's assuming none leave (already assuming Tex has gone).

What Ajose needs is a pacey, energetic and creative midfield behind him. You can sign all the forwards you like but we're going nowhere without that.

So we bid 100k, they said no, we pulled out and then went back in with a 300k bid.

By all accounts we had a second bid of £200,000 rejected as well

    Lookmans replacement. 3 midfielders short.

That was one brilliant Negotiating Skills course that Katie went on!
  • Adds to the strength in depth so can't complain. Pointless addition if we don't get some energy and forward momentum in midfield.

Kilmarnock: We're not going to accept £100k. We would accept £250k
    KM: Would you take....£300k?

Now let me see if I have this right:

We lend a Scottish striker of some ability to a Scottish club and probably still pay some of his wages.

We purchase for £275k a Scottish striker of limited ability

    Good business?

    He's Northern Irish

Magennis...thoroughly unimpressed. No doubt will be our 3rd choice goalie and be played out on the wing.

Hope to be proved wrong but it feels like 300k wasted at the mo. Time will tell.

  • Quick Twitter search tells me that Louis Thompson sat with the Swindon fans in their away game at QPR tonight.

That's the end of that one then.

Unless of course he's currently in London signing for us and decided to get a game in?!

    We offered

    100k
    Then 200k
Then 275k plus up to 25k in add ons from the rumours I've seen here and on Twitter.

Can't believe we paid anything like that. We bid 75k and the club said it was 100k initially

Oh totally agree ajose needs central midfield control and movement.

That has to be primary targets left, pace and creation across the middle of the park.

I would imagine it's closer to being 275k including add-ons

His goal record with Aberdeen was horrendous . Are we meant to be grateful to the Belgians for this ? Of course, he deserves several games to prove himself and he will have my support
