Steve - Head of Recruitment.
Sounds tinpot8 -
Worked with pretty much everyone before
Must like odd regimes, was to be appointed the Leeds Head Scout last summer by their nutjob owner changed his mind as Round had a holiday booked he wanted to keep0 -
moves around a lot, last three positions lasted less than a year in each. Not a good sign imo. Welcome to the madhouse Steve. I'll give you until Xmas.
Does he know he also has to man the Box Office phones at lunch time?8 -
Oh it's that guy. He was chief scout when Norwich went back up to the PL in 2015.shirty5 said:
Responsible for bringing in Grabban, Jerome, Lafferty among others.5 -
Seems to have decent experience, good luck to him - difficult job in his hands.0
-
Especially when Karel is offering you players from Iran5

Had never heard of him not that that means anything.
Seems to have worked for a lot of high profile teams and must have decent knowledge of players in England plus a lot of contacts.
Can't beat a third division part time manager working from Belgium but this bloke will have to do instead.10 -

was told this a couple of days ago but that he would be announced after a new manager was appointed. Have I missed that bit of news?0

Translation... We wanted Andrew Mills he turned us down... We wanted Keith Burke he turned us down.shirty5 said:9 -
Doesn't seem a bad appointment on the face of it, has experience of opposition scouting which we have been woeful at for sometime.0

Head has the best CV out of that lot. Can't even find anything on Keith Burke?shirty5 said:1 -
Question, as always, is why would anyone with options come to us at the moment, especially when the CEO and owner constantly interfere with signings? Assume he must have been given assurances but presume he did not need them in writing?0
-
At the moment it's just a name in a role, proof will be in the outcome. We had an experienced Uk Head Scout with a strong network of contacts, and he left because he wasn't being listened to and the Club's lead on these things was decided in Belgium.
We've now replaced him five months later, with someone of a similar background and experience to the one who left.
Let's see what influence he gets allowed, and what impact that has21 -
Didn't he go around robbing graveyards with some bloke called Hare? Or was that a different network club?Leeds_Addick said:

Good appointment if he is allowed to get on with his job.0

I knew his brother, who was landlord of the Lamb and Flag pub in Hammersmith (and once had a trial at QPR)3

The Head of Recruitment doesn't sign players - their role is to scout and to make the initial contact with any targets identified by the Head Coach/Manager.mogodon said:Question, as always, is why would anyone with options come to us at the moment, especially when the CEO and owner constantly interfere with signings? Perhaps he means David Burke (ex Brighton and Derby) who was linked with us ?Leeds_Addick said:

Experience gained whilst working for England might be useful, especially as RD likes cheap foreign players. His work history doesn't suggest he'll stay long.0
