Was it Wiltshire that let the cross come in by trying to close the player down too quick?
No. It was Milner.
Surely it must have been Wilshere because he plays for Arsenal! If it wasn't, can we just pretend that it was to appease the anti Wilshere / Arsenal brigade that is prevalent on here!!
It's a cruel game as they say but you have to take your chances when you're on top and we didn't. We should still qualify however. Maybe start Vardy instead of Kane against the Welsh?
Fuck you Hodgson you piece of shit trying to sit back on a lead, shite subs, pile of shite. How this prick ever got the England job i never know
Get a grip.
Hodgson is one of the most negative managers I've ever witnessed. So much potential attacking talent in this side and he's still content with sitting back.
How can you say that the way he set the team up to play? They also were not sitting back after the subs came on. You need a bit of luck in tournament football and we didn't have it at the end. Plenty to be encouraged about.
I'm not sure what's more typical. England not getting the job done or the massive over reaction to it. France were no better than us as a team but got a lucky break with the error from the goalie and then a moment of magic from Payet. We produced a quality moment to get the lead but couldn't hang on.
Overall we played better then a good deal of our previous tournament performances but didn't get the breaks. Roy's subs were poor but the starting XI worked and was balanced.
Room for improvement but enough to say we'll get out of the group.
Gutted at the end but I think the cold light of day will see a lot of positIves. We look a decent outfit, should progress, and I think be a potential match for anyone in the later stages.

The point I'm trying to make here is based off the facts that:
Kane was poor tonight and his work-rate was hardly brilliant either Vardy is the perfect outlet with long balls over the top, especially when the two CB's have a combined age of 70 for Russia Sterling was poor but at least he provided an outlet higher up the pitch, compared to Milner whom in his one surge forward fell over and crucially lost possession... Leave Rooney on, bring Vardy on for Kane and we win this game easilly.

Agreed... England and France played no differently, the latter just had a bit of luck that just worked out for them at the end.
Played well, didn't get the win we deserved, Russia were poor and we got mugged at the end.
We can play better: we have Vardy to come as well.
Wales in Lens will be interesting and I'll be there.
Same here. First time I have ever seen England in a major tournament. Down in the dumps at the moment but sure i will be up for it at 5am on Thursday morning.......
Excellent for a long time. Vardy had to come on for Kane with twenty to go, don't get why that didn't happen. Kane looked knackered. Hey ho, 90 seconds a great start.

Agree about Kane. Rooney looked knackered when he came off. The point is England didn't make many mistakes, they were attacking and confident. Credit Hodgson. We had one bad moment. We weren't totally tournament sharp. There's more to come. But don't slag the manager off. He set the team up to be attacking. Bring on Wales.
Vardy needed to come on earlier/at all, Kane shouldn't be taking corners, Sterling needs to learn to distribute the ball better, Hodgson needs to not be so negative, Defence need to get a bit more organised, Rooney played very well, as did Alli, Dier and Walker
WE should have won quite easily as we played well for 89 minutes. But it is a 90 minute game. I can't understand the unlucky comments, I can't understand how Smalling gets away with this. Everyone says bad luck it was a mismatch as Danny Rose was bound to be outjumped by the guy. At the corner he wasn't marking him. Smalling should have kept an eye out for the guy. When I played ( quite a long time ago) as a small full back I expected my taller centre halves to be keeping an eye on and picking up their big guys. It's not difficult!
Played well enough. I thought we looked all over the place as we came out just before their goal, and it was a kick in the rollocks. It happens when you try and defend a 1-0. Agree about the subs being shite. We needed to keep worrying them on the break. It was a good performance, but we need to beat a Welsh side really full of themselves now.
Same old England I'm sorry to say get through the qualifiers playing nobodies and winning the group before not being good enough against the proper teams

No doubt we were quality first 45 and yes Hodgson can take the credit for that, it was one of the most positive starts I've ever seen an England team make. However if Milner is our second choice LW we really are in trouble, should definitely have altered his selections if we are going to play the 433. Maybe I was harsh on Hodgson in heat of the moment but to me leaving off our most In form, and dangerous player in terms of counter attacking football in Vardy , off for a full 90 minutes is sheer incompetence on his part.
I thought Hodgson did the right thing in trying to defend the lead, as it seemed like one of those games that could go on for hours without scoring from open play.
Good performance overall - my concern is that I want goals through the team - that's how you turn the first half performance into goals - Lallana is a terrific player, but he doesn't score enough goals- likewise Sterling. That is why Rooney has to play - unlucky not to score but knows where the goal is. Not all doom and gloom, we have Kane, Rooney and Alli who can find the net. And Vardy still to come into play. Would have liked to see Vardy come on for Sterling instead of Milner - probably just after we got the opener.
I thought Walker had a good game, as did Rooney. Wales won't be easy, but we ought to beat them - but they really are a tight team so we will have to deal with that!
Same old England I'm sorry to say get through the qualifiers playing nobodies and winning the group before not being good enough against the proper teams
Switzerland are a much better side than Russia and England beat them twice in qualifying.
Tournaments are about building momentum, can we at least save the wrist slitting until we're actually out?
Milner for sterling was okay, probably should have been Vardy for Kane at the same time, and maybe Rashford for Lallana to give us that pace on the break.

Not digging out Miller but had to be Sturrdige or Varney for Sterling.
And that was from about 60mins.

Bemused as to why Vardy wasn't brought on at the end as his pace and movement would have torn them apart.
Let's hope we take out the disappointment on Wales and would be good if Bale stubs his toe before Thursday.

im supporting france now at least they can win

We'll still win the group and will get tobthe semi finals imo.
