I understand the reasoning behind it, but the lino sticking the flag up for offside after the phase of play is completed (allowing VAR to sort it all out) irritates me. With the Millwall keeper incident in mind, I can see somebody getting badly injured in a clash between keeper and forward only for the effort and risk to count for nothing as the offside flag (belatedly) goes up... (and it begs the question what the ref does if the incident involves foul play).
